Hey Jon, did you get my pm with info? Just making sure you have it!

Also I'll be sending you the shirts payment tonight!
Thanks!

This is gonna be a great trip!

Just reached out to MT... OPOR Siders have a 3 week production lead time.

Everyone's thoughts on abandoning the idea of sliders for the trip?

I know stock LC's have done it before, but Id like to make the 2500 mile trip back in one piece, and not having to bungee the door shut :)

Check with WKOR

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD, and hopefully approved by the NSA.

Or better yet, check with Slee Offroad. If you buy from Christo, I'll stop by the shop, pick them up, transport them from Denver to Ouray and help you install them Thursday before any runs!

Just remove your running boards prior to leaving.

I might need your delivery service as well if metaltech cant get them. :D

Or, just bring your running-board equipped truck and take the easy/scenic trails. That's what I'm going to do.

Umm, I'm totally stock. Running boards, no sliders. I have been thinking about taking off my running boards for this trip...
Obviously, looking to do the easy runs. My main goal is to socialize, check out built 100's, hang out in cooler temps, and entertain my kids. Trail rides will be a bonus :meh:

I don't want my lack of armor or clearance to detract from the fun others are planning to have. I don't mind doing my own thing as necessary.
Thanks!

I'm feeling left out. Deliver me something. Don't much care what, just something.

All-
Stock trucks will do GREAT on this trip. The only concern I would have would be stock road tires. Be aware that there is a very real chance of a flat due to the angular shale and granite that is prevalent in the area. Just make sure you have a good spare. We will have several tire repair kits between us.

Conflicting comments below. Which is it? Just want to make sure everyone is on the same page.

All,

If for some reason you don't show up on the first page, rest assured, you're still welcome to come. There isn't any hard and fast "official" roster for this event. The info you send to Jonathan is more for planning purposes and emergency info (contact and medical).... just in case.

There is no event fee or red velvet rope. If you realize on the day of that you can make it, we'll see you there! You don't have to buy a t-shirt or even say you're coming, but knowing you're coming makes the planning a little easier and having emergency info is important, but can be added at anytime. If you show up in a 100, you're in. If you paid for a t-shirt, it'll be here when you get here.

Can't wait!

OK Folks. The time has come to shut it down.
If you have been watching the thread vicariously but have not posted interest or sent me details I'd request that you consider joining us next year. Due to many factors, including environmental impact, logistics and permit requirements we are really at our limit for number of vehicles and people. If you are still on the tentative list, please make your final decision by the end of the weekend (7/7). I will be ordering shirts next week and need final quantities. If you have indicated that you want shirts and can not make the event I ask that you still pay for your shirts. I will ship them to you.

I will also send out an EMAIL next week to all participants. This will include the meeting location. Is anyone arriving on Tuesday or Wednesday that can "save" a spot for us? We have two areas to choose from and they are both first come first served.

Thanks everyone for the incredible interest. This is turning out to be one of the top viewed threads in Trails-Events-Expeditions and I expect it to keep climbing the charts. The trip will not disappoint and ultimately it's success depends on you guys! Bring a great attitude and you will have a great experience!

Thanks!
Jonathan

I will have new shoes on but no sliders. Delivery from slee on a set would be great but I have maxed out the bank account for this trip. Although for the price of OPOR sliders + shipping I could have slee's delivered to the event. I will be in the durango/Ouray area earlier than Thursday, no set schedule yet. I dont really want to camp in the same spot for 5 days but I might be able to get out there and secure a spot. I will bring my police line tape, that should do the trick!

Craig, both comments give leeway and both posts are correct. If someone shows up last minute they will be welcomed but if at all possible, we would like as much head's up as possible. This is to ensure that we have emergency contact info and can plan our runs and purchases according to the number of people attending. This event grew faster than any of us imagined and I don't want to get into a situation where we need to start looking at official permitting and event insurance.

Ok, thanks for clearing up any confusion Jon. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.

I'm thinking I might not be able to do the dual battery setup. I guess I am taking a decent gamble running my Edgestar on a totally stock system for almost a week? Or do I really need to get this mod done?

If you will be driving your truck each day for at least a couple of hours, you should be fine assuming you have a decent primary battery. The edge star will shut down before you get to the point of not being able to start your truck. Plus I've got a set of jumper cables if you need to use them :-)

Yea, I second SanDiego. Whats the condition of your current battery? If nothing else grab a Slee GRP 31 kit and a new Diehard battery from sears and spend 1/10th the install time prior to the trip, then not have to worry about it.. Tackle the Dual kit when you get back... Just a thought.

I'd say its 100% doable.

What I would recommend however is that you find a way to hard wire the setup. You are more likely to end up with your cig connection disconnecting, than killing your battery. Di-pole trailer wiring harness has worked great for me...

Just left an email for Slee. I know it's a vacation type weekend, so he is out of the office. Hopefully I can the battery tray here and installed before we leave on the 30th!

Sandiego is spot on. I ran my fridge for a year on a single duralast. Wort case is you have a dead battery in the am and we jump start you.
