is that an RTT @TWILLY?

It's more of clamp-on pop-top roof. Campteq. Primary and not secondary fastening. Made with thick aluminum--light, low profile and very strong, carries like 600 lbs. Lots of people cut the stock roof for interior builds.

Hey guys just picked up a 92 last night 140k Miles. OME 2.5” lift, front and rear bumpers. I’m pretty freakin stoked it’s slower than hell and sounds like a tractor and smells like an old 911. I love it.

Going to be my daily driver, coming from a 4th gen 4Runner lol

I’ve spent a lot of time reading on this forum, don’t know much about these yet but I’m taking it to my yota mechanic tomorrow and see what he says...so far all I know if the rear axle outer seal is weeping.

Anyways just thought I’d check in, excited to learn more about these and drive this thing everywhere

Hey guys, new owner.
Just got the rig home! It’s been a long road to getting an 80 and can’t wait to get started. Wife’s daily is a 200 and the 80 will hopefully see daily and weekend use, keeping some miles off my wrx.

Truck has 312k on it, and it still runs. I have a laundry list of maintanence to catch up on. It’s been sitting for the last 3 years. 1 owner truck! Planning for a super mild stock tire size build. Focusing on reliability. Faded paint and the 3fe are staying.

I am hoping for a little help here. My 91 is doing great with a full desmog and today I did the last step of cat removal and a heat wrap on the exhaust back to the Y collector. I ask for help because I screwed up in installing the front exhaust pipe. After I had it all in I started her up and there is a small leak. Not a big deal just take the pipe back off and either replace or reposition the gasket.... too bad I can't get the stud bolts back off... literally just took them off and put them back on this morning and now I can't get the damn things back off... any thoughts on this? Possible over tourque? I am gonna get a heavy impact driver tomorrow unless someone has a magical solution?

Start it up, and let the exhaust get hot, and then take some liquid wrench or pb blaster and spray the bolt down and then try again, if not I would try the impact gun

Picked up my 91 a couple weeks ago w/204k. It's got a full desmog, bumped the timing up a hair, Trail Gear spindle nuts, Metaltech 2" spacers up front, unknown front springs and OME 860 mediums out back on 255/75/17 BFG KM1s. Also just installed new AC components, alternator, water pump and plugs/cap/wires.

Just started collecting parts for an H42 swap and I'll ditch the cats at some point.

Oh yeah, it has a home brew winch bumper on it that the welds suck on. So I'll have to address that. Its booger town

Sounds like a plan!!
Well.... I figured out why the nuts wouldn't come off...
Guess I'm going to get new stud bolts... and of course have a ton of fun getting these out... suggestions anyone?

2 methods I've used. 1- if you can thread 2 nuts on there, as close to the manifold as possible, the outer one will act as a jam nut and the stud will turn out by turning the inside nut. Reccomend using the box end of a wrench not the open end
2- get a slightly larger nut than the stud takes and if you have access to a welder, weld the nut to the stud, it then backs out just like a bolt
For either method copious amounts of heat via map gas/ propane torch to the manifold and penetrating oil works wonders

Good news! A pipe wrench, penetrating lube, and map gas. A little elbow grease and a touch of patience. Pulled the exhaust manifold and replaced the stud bolts. Got it all put back together and purring like a 28 year old kitten with emphysema!!! So yeah, she's running great again! And Catless!!

Welcome. Nice rig!

Hey any of you 3fe guys in Colorado Springs? If so would anybody be willing to teach me a couple maintenance items, show me around a 3fe some Saturday morning and have a few beers?

I’m pretty mechanically inclined but I’m new to wanting to wrench on my truck and every time I do something I feel paranoid it’s going to explode or I missed a step...even simple stuff like flushing the coolant. I just don’t really know what to look for even though I spend hours reading on here. I also never really trust a shop that much or how knowledgeable they are about these old engines...

Lemme know, thanks! I’d also be down to drive to Denver

What kind of exhaust wrap did you use
Got it on Amazon. Word of caution though. Make sure you research and know the advantages and the cost it comes with. Plus its fiberglass wrap, not fun to play with.

I would be okay spending some time on a video chat to help with the once over and basics. PM if that's sounds like an idea for you.

What pipes did you use to extend past where the cats were? I'm looking for a similar option on mine.
Thanks
