Is the problem just that the bore is short? I ask because the 3f rod is longer than a stock 350 rod and you can spin a 350 with a 5.7 rod all day long. The stroke is similar too.


Combo of a short bore which leaves the piston skirt unsupported, a long stroke and short rod which creates a steep angle trying to shove the piston sideways as the crank comes around to 90 degrees and moves onward. :(

The 350 hase aq shorter stroke and a lower bore. Less side loading on the piston and more support for it.
