Ok, two button trapezoid Toyota fob shell is ready! The latest rev came in perfect, with no changes needed. Pictures attached and ready for sale soon. I'll open a thread in the 80 series section as a "group buy" sort of thing and get those going. Regular pricing will probably be around $42-45, but I'll drop the price to ~$38-40 for the group buy with a 2 week lead time.

The Isuzu style needs one more rev. It's functional as is, but the holes for the LED and buttons need to be re-aligned to fit perfectly. @FloydtheDog Sorry, but you have to wait one more rev before I have something I'll put my "brand" on. ;) I'll get the design done today and get a couple ordered up immediately. You'll receive the first one (or two) if you'd like before I do a group buy of sorts for that version.

Nice work @suprarx7nut, this sounds great. Shoot me a PM when you're ready and we can work out the details.

Thanks again.

Two button Trapezoid are in stock and ready to ship for the 80 series and other 90's Toyota's with the RS3000 keyless entry system.

The latest rev Isuzu style came in and works great! I'm ordering sell-able units now and should have those on hand in a week or two.

Do you have more options planned for some point?

I am hoping for a 1 button fob for the 80 series, but not sure there is enough interest to make it worth your time. I have a loaner if you need one though.

I'm always open to more designs. Can you send a picture of your fob or link me to one like it online? If I can find it cheap on ebay, I'll just buy one for me to keep. I like having one on hand for myself to check any fitment problems down the road.

Picture attached, just a cell phone photo.

FCC ID on back is BABEUC-1052.

When I was looking (it's been a while) they weren't particularly cheap on ebay, at least ones with working transmitters. This is the cheapest I see now: Toyota Case Shell button BABEUC-1163 transmitter keyless entry remote alarm key | eBay

Latest rev of the Isuzu fob came in. I also discovered that there was a "Lexus" branded version of these which appears identical! Thanks to Juan for that info.

The Isuzu version will be tested out by a member on here while I make some final changes. It's "OK" as is, but not good enough.

Ok, thanks. I've seen those before. I need to find one with the internals. The internals are really the parts I need to measure to. Being a single button and simple looking shape, I'm guessing that would be an easy one to make, but I'll have to find a complete remote internal set before I can design it. At the going rate it's probably costing me ~$100-150 in parts per design just in prototyping costs and consumes around 10-15 hours total. I have to sell at least 10 to about break even. I worry about that single button style and how few customers are out there... :( If you can recruit a handful of customers I'll jump it to the front of the prototyping queue!

Just wanted to say thanks for such a nice product. I found this thread ordered my fob and the next day my original fob cracked to the point of no repair. Thrilled I found this...

@Boltripper That's an awesome spread you have there. I think those are the best looking photos of that product I've seen! I'll re-use those if you're ok with that.

Did you have a little plastic light guide over the LED from your old case? It looks like there's no light guide in your pics, but perhaps it was missing from your old case. Doesn't really affect performance, so no biggie either way.

Mine was missing from my old case... I have to look at my spare and see if I have one in that case... In any event, use the pic if you need them... Love the case!

Check out this thread: YotaMD Titanium Integrated Remote Key Fob Shell

That design has proven very popular and essentially bulletproof.

I'm not considering a flip key anytime soon, but I would put it in my potential future designs list if I had a source for good flip key blanks - ideally made in the USA. The existing blanks in most people's keys would not be compatible with a flip key, so that sort of defeats part of the purpose of the YotaMD kits - which I intend to be a quick and easy changeover from any existing remote key.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

@suprarx7nut I may have missed it in here somewhere, but do you have a source for the remote internals? I need a whole new key: remote, blade and case. I can get the case and blade from you, but where can I get the remote that doesn't cost what the dealer charges?

I recommend getting OEM through McGeorge Toyota. Mine cost $125. I thought that was reasonable for something that should reliably work for 15+ years.

You can buy knock-offs on Amazon and eBay for $25 or something, but I've had some feedback of failures on those. IMO, it's not worth the hassle. Buy OEM through a wholesale dealer like McGeorge or EB and it's not outrageously expensive. And, not to mention, you're paying the company that actually produced/procured/commissioned the technology/product and not a copy-cat using borderline unethical (or sometimes blatantly unethical) labor. 🤷
