btw. My turbo is oil AND water. I think it's better.
I would not use that down pipe ,think it's too small and you will have to replace it down the line when you go with a 2.5" exhaust. and you want to do with a 2.5
I am running the exact turbo on my 3BII, great match you'll be happy with the end results
built the same setup last year, the turbo was out of an 83 Merc 300d.
boost is at 10-10.5
2.5 you're right on the money,
the manifold is a backward homebrew, I decided to make my because I'm running a 3BII so the 13BT manifold wouldn't bolt up to it,the bolt pattern is different. I'd have to make the turbo flange adapter and another for the head to fit the 13BT manifold.
It's not that hard if you have some basic tools and some patience
-1/2 plate for the flanges
-s/40 1 3/4" straight pipe
-s/40 1 3/4" x4 90 degree weld ons
-one weld on pyro bung
-$50 off machineing
-$80 on ceramic coating
and you can position the turbo where you like all at the fraction of the cost of a a 13BT man.
those tests were all run at 11 or 12 psi. No more than that. I never wanted to go much higher than that. This is why there was no test for wide open boost. I was scared too.....
