TSL boggers 35x14.50x15s

Are these too big for my 76' 40? It has 80+ running gear and either a 55 or 60 split t-case.

Still has the inline 6 tank motor.. with manual tranny. Also, probably a 3-4", rancho spring lift.

They're for sale & I'm considering them rather than my current 15yr+ 33x10.5x15 Buckshots..

Currently running 35x14.5/15 Maddogs with similar lift.
Install a transfer case saver and possibly a front cone reinforcing ring. Be sure your skid plates are up to the challenge & have fun!

Rock crawling fine..... one thing is boggers have horizontal lugs......in a side hill muddy trail can get interesting.

Case savers & spare birf will get you through, 4:88 will help lower your crawl long term.

Good luck & post pics.

Any inside rubbing and where did you get your rein.ring?

Not sure what skid plates you have... I just try to watch where I'm going :hillbilly:

That's an interesting point I hadn't really considered. :hhmm:

Mine are the 4:11 and I'm sure your right about the birf. Broke one last year turning in reverse.
That's one reason I'm asking.. those 14.5s make for some torque issues.

BTW.. how's your pop's truck handling him :D

Any other inputs for this action?

Mainly I want to know the undercarriage will be ok with the bigg tires.
I read how most it seems, have 33's or 35's, and I suspect the birfs will be the weakest link now
with the 35x14.5x15's.

Thanx again to all,
Marco

Saw a set of wheels and tires:

35" bf goodrich mud tas, american eagle polished aluminum wheels
15 x 8, bolt pattern 6 on 5.5, offset 30 mm center bore 108.2 mm

Will there be any issue under my 40?

Thanx all

You can get the Nose cone ring from Georg (orangefj45) here on mud.

Later,

When running 35's with a 3" or 4" lift, you will damage your rear quarter panel if it not cut out.

You can kinda see the rear portion of my quarter panel folded in in this picture.

Inside rubbing: YES...especially Boggers
Sorry didn't think about it earlier.
The standing seam at the junction between the rear deck and fender sidewall is a downward facing lap joint. I have experienced sidewall lug damage in the form of slices. The problem was solved simply enough. Dolly the seam at least 45 degrees towards the center line of the vehicle. A relief cut will be necessary in the adjacent seam that runs parallel to the rear axle amidships of the rear wheel well. This will allow the tire to contact the sheet metal and slough off harmlessly.

Enjoy the rock crawling. Look forward to the pics!
