$320 to remove and install alarm sound about right?

I had my old alarm that my uncle put in back when the cruiser was new but didn't work now, and a viper alarm installed for $50-$70 at Best Buy. I don't remember the exact price, but it was cheap. That is their standard pricing, but I knew the guy working there so I knew he was doing a good job. YMMV on other Best Buy installers though.

Don't know what the Cali prices are, but it cost me close to $600 to get a Viper remote installed in my 2002 Chevy Blazer back in 2009. I really like the Viper because the model I have has a 1 mile range. Lot's of options with the Viper, like starting the rear window defrost, low temp starts, low battery starts, etc.

I know that if you buy the alarm and everything from Best Buy it's around $600, but I bought my Viper system off amazon for $150, and had them install it. I got the one with the 1 mile range and everything.

I did this exact same project.
Removed the old alarm myself about 30 min job. Started at the unit under the seat and moved forward.
Bought a Viper on Ebay for a little over $100 maybe it was $120
Had it installed by local alarm/sound shop for $80.
I think your estimate is reasonable.
Removing Old isn't scary, but tapping the main harness to install new one is.
