bike is looking sweet!!!
I'm interested in your painting technique - How will you blend the painted areas with the new paint. Is this a base/clear job and will you use the clearcoat to blend?
Obvious question: why not paint all the exterior surfaces first and then install the glass? Just wondered... As an amateur painter, I'm always interested in other folk's techniques.
Thanks,
Steve
Hi Matt , i follow your thread day after day. Remember me , doing the fj-45 with a fj-40 and a Toyota Stout box and aqualu tub .......?
My build up only in french but i got pic !
http://www.quebec4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13696
You did a realy good job for all your project ( $$$$$$ ).
Do you thinking about building a prototype or something ?
I will eventualy try to do Banderiante 4 door like tlc did !
I got lot of question it's up to you ( if you don't want to anser or if you don't understand my realy realy poor english sorry).
1- Do you work in this field ( mecanic , welder or something) ?
2- Do you eventualy sell your fj to work on something else ?
3-Why Toyota (for my self it's the shape, the icon , i began my works with 1983 toy p-u and 1990 toy p-u all frame off)
4-What is the ccor and the ccor girls ?
5-And the last question but THE BIGEST TO ME i got a fj-45 top from 1967 and i got hook..... the windshild is a 1979 it fit but got only hole for bolt. For your fj do you only put bolt and what kind of weatherstrip gose between the both.
It's very difficult here in Quebec and i think it's the same all around Canada Toyota dealer don't have all the pices for fj and they don't do bussines with U.S.A. .
Thnx you !
Keep the good work and remember the WORLD watching you !
Mort aux vaches ...Marc...
Thanks! I'm happy with how it looks also......but, your not helping the cruiser project here.
I was trying to get myself psyche'd up to work on the box this weekend because I want to work on that bike so bad. Now...it might be the bike![]()
Thanks, Matt![]()

Matt I think I can clarify the #5 question. Marcfj-45's windshield frame fit up. He has a stock 1979 frame, with a 1967 top, what he needs is a bow piece from a newer hardtop so it can be bolted to the front of the windshield frame instead of using the 5 hold down latches on a 1967 windshield to top mount. HTH, John Pardi. PS my dad was born in Montreal, Quebec. But I can't speek French.Hi Marc,
Yes I remember you and I'll try to answer your questions.
1. No, don't work as skilled welder, mechanic or anything. I am involved in the hardware business. As a kid (13) I started working for my dad in a farm implement dealership assembling and working on farm machinery. Tractors, combines, cultivator's...etc.. Got a lot of hands on mechanical experience at a very young age...including welding.
2. No, I don't eventually sell my cruisers.....yetOr at least no one has boughten any yet

3. Not really sure why Toyota, specifically landcruisers? Probably the same reason's as you.....I love the look and the history mostly.
4. "CCOR" stood for "Crusty Cruisers of Roseau" Long story and stupid, friend of mine coined the phrase, mostly making fun of Cool Cruisers of Texas. Eventually it became Crusty Cruisers. I really need to get that off my site. The CCOR girls are Atlanta Hawk cheerleaders. I was in Atlanta, GA 3 or so years ago and went to the season opener game. Cheerleaders were at the front door taking pics with everyone. I just used it on my site....stupid, I know![]()
5. Can you post a pic, not really sure I understand the question.
And your english is fine for the most part. It's way better than my French!!
Thanks, Matt![]()

Just didn't know if I would ruffle anyone's feathers by posting a few more pics of it?
