Matt, love the colour under body panels, been doing the tintable bedliner a few years now and it is top notch.

My first 45 build I did the same thing and it is a seamless coating that will definitly prolong the life of cruiser sheetmetal.

Side note, Too Tall on this board picked up two FJ45 frames in the Cali area, one has factory paint on it, droooooooooooool.

Great work....

I sent my tank out to get done. . I would recommend doing the same. who knows what you knock loose or loosened when you flipped it around and around to sand blast. I would hate to have you toast your fuel lines and carb with junk. the place I sent it too its in my thread hang on,

they open up the tank and derust the inside as well as the baffles, then coat it inside and out with a rubberized coating. very slick. might be worht it

Got about 2.5 hours on the lpb tonight.....nothing special.....

Came home this evening and started hauling parts out of the paint booth. Got the fenders and tranny hump out and then the neighbor came over and gave me a hand flipping the cab back over and setting it on the stand. Rolled the cab out and wanted to give the booth a jiffy tune up. I have been sanding in there quite a bit and like to clean up before I shoot clear. Swept everything up and blew everthing down, walls and ceiling.....then got all the parts back in.

I busted out the anal rententiveness and felt I needed to do a little wet sanding. I thought the dash and door jams could use it.....they looked pretty good to begin with, but now a little better. Shot a couple spots of epoxy primer in a few areas. After that I figure I better just wait until tomorrow.

I have to work tomorrow night so hoping to get up tomorrow morning and shoot a little base...and maybe clear, well see.

Few pics of the parts from this evening.

Look great. You are just too fast man. How do you seem to get so much done at at time. You are a master at your art. Is that the same color as your 40? Why the same color? Are you going to sell the 40 and do another one? hint hint. :)

Not the same color as my 40. 40 is calf s*** yellow color, I think 532. This is 653, Olive green....some of the pics do look yellow, camera I guess? It defenietly is Olive green, kinda a greenish, brownish color.

Everything is for sale.......

And, I seem to get a lot done when the stereo is wide open on Sirius / Octane 20.......the wife calls it, "the angry" music.......

Matt

I have 2 tanks that look perfect if you want them.
g

I done offered one .......also...
Butch

Butch and Gary,

Thanks for the offer, still might have to take one of you guys up on it. I did contact a local speciality welding guy, he stopped buy today and picked it up.

He was pretty sure he could braze those holes shut, so I should be good to go.

Thanks, Matt

I remember from the LV thread...Matt doesnt watch TV. If I used all that time to work on my projects then I would at least make some progress too!! :)

Matt - Keep up the great work!!

Got about 2 hours on the lpb this morning.

Have to run to work this afternoon and work late, but did manage to get the base on. The pics you see are just the base coat (color).....NO clear yet.

It would have been pushing it a little this morning if I would have shot clear so I think I am going to just wait until after work late this evening. So I can take my time and not rushed.

Base layed down pretty nice, should look good with the clear on this evening....hopefully....

You are correct.....no TV.

Just the angry music :D

Matt

Yep, know that routine well. I rarely watch TV. We don't have cable or sat, just hi-def off air and that's fine with me. I have been remodeling my house for two years, and that's how I get so much done on it. I turn on the techno music, which is NOT from my generation, but it makes me work like I'm on speed! Well, that, and some very angry stuff from the early 90's. Soon, I'll be on to my truck project as well. Looks good Matt.

Got home from work tonight, 1 hour in the booth.

Tacked clothed everthing down, 2 coats of DCU2021.

Few pics of the glamour shots, layed down pretty decent.....should looked good underneath the floor mat ;p

Thats looking nice. You can park the finished product in my garage any time Matt.

Matt,
I've been following your restore and you do great work!
The OEM fenders you got are they the same gauge as the older fenders, how was the fit, and did you have to make any mods to them?
Paul
