We have a long trip planned with our kids in our ‘09 LX570. Looking for some good window shades. Anyone? I saw this thread below but it’s older and unfinished. I’m new here!

Thanks

we just drove 2700 miles, most of which was during the day and sunny. The tinted windows do a good job overall and then I used a front window sun shield as needed to cover the window facing more sun exposure. I don't personally like fixed window shades. Overall it wasn't a big issue at all.

XL/Car Window Sun Shades for... Amazon product ASIN B07HYXZYMNI use this over my windows when sleeping in the rig so bugs don't get in. When I drove around with it on the following day it made the back windows significantly darker ontop of the tint

I use these. Versatile, easy to use and put right where they are needed, no damage if you accidentally roll down a window with them installed, and effective at blocking the sun.

Got some of those too but they don't stay on for long... especially with kids bumping them. Also my son rolled down his window and the blind got sucked down into the door which was entertaining 😂

I guess they aren't for everyone! But, for me they don't fall off on their own if the glass and the shades are clean when I put them up. Also, for safeties sake, I strongly recommend anyone with kids in the rear seats use the window mechanism lock on the driver's door.

So I took a chance on these and they arrived the other day. While they look at a lot like granny's panties they are effective!

I'm very happy with them. Granted my purpose is a net so I can have the windows down while sleeping. They do a good job of sharing the sun as well

Pictures?

Did you get the XL size, and did you pull them down all the way? When I have mine on they come down to where the paint starts on the door no problem

Same here.
If you get the right fit (tight and corner-to-corner), they drive silently and allow the window to go up and down freely.

Pro Sleeping Tip! ;)
-Stick a large, battery-powered fan between the layers on the window sill at night to keep fresh air flowing in the heat without letting bugs in.
Works a charm...

Believe it or not...8 D batteries will last many nights, too... 2 speeds, very quiet. Also can plug into power with an AC adapter.

I need one of those! Thanks for the tip. I've got a trip coming up and I knows it's going to be hot and was trying to think of what I could do to have fresh air blowing in. I was going to get a little fan like UPS drivers have

O2 Cool fans work well and are very inexpensive...but look for the D-cell units. Preferably 8-cell, though 6-Cell work well too. C-Battery unit’s exist, but I hate dealing with C cells. Smaller...more costly...harder to find in a pinch. Used a single set of D’s all week at Oshkosh...
