Up on the 60 Series list, we were having a discussion about Plug and Play options to replace the Vacuum Solenoids that engage the 4wd on FJ62 series Land Cruisers without having to pay $400 for the OEM parts. A lot of the more affordable options are either discontinued or require hacking the wiring harness to change the connectors. It came up that one poster has used a solenoid/solenoids from an 1990 4runner that fit the FJ62's connectors without modification. He wasn't quite sure the function that they performed in the 4runner or of a Toyota part #. They are located on the passenger side inner fender. I am hoping that one of you can advise on the function of these solenoids or, even better, a Toyota part #.
