The second annual Sandhills trip is a go! The idea of this trip is a two night camping weekend in the Sand Hills State Forest and on private land. There are not many rock obstacles or steep hill climbs in our region so don't expect a lot wheeling. If you really want to justify your 4wd the I will be glad to set you up with a mud hole. This will be a family friendly camping weekend. Everything can be accomplished with a stock vehicle and there will be opportunities for gas and grocery stores along the way. I will provide a group meal Saturday night otherwise you are responsible for own food

Day/Night 1 - Camp at the Sand Hills State Forest. I have reserved a campsite at Mountain Pond Site #2 which should accommodate 10-12 vehicles. There is a restroom and shelter at this sight. I can reserve another campsite if enough interest arises. The site is on a pond so bring a fishing pole if that's what you are into.

Day 2 - We will take a riding tour of the Sand Hills State Forest and the Sand Hills Wildlife Refuge with a few stops along the way. We will stop for lunch somewhere, possibly Wild Heart Brewery if time permits. We will then make our way to our farm in the Bishopville, SC area. Exact location to be disclosed off the web for those attending. More fishing opportunities at this location. Saturday night we will provide a group meal and a bond fire.

Also note that alcohol is not allowed in the state forest but we are adults here so make your own decision.

Plans subject to change if better ideas develop.

I'll be there...likely with my sidekick, depending on his school schedule.

@roadstr6 & @fj40alex hyped up this trip and convinced me to tag along if that’s cool with the group.
I have two strong maybes that want to come as well.

If I can get the 60 dialed in, I’m always down for a road trip.
Put a few uneventful miles on yesterday. Down to Tieing up looses ends like building t-case shifter linkage and cup holders. Shouldn’t keep us away.
Me plus the 3 girls are in, and maybe a dog. Camping is getting tight with my crew. A dually van is looking appealing…

Should I take you off the hard maybe list or not yet?

Eric’s truck road-worthy? Dave and I discussed going in a couple relics.
Eric's pickup is roadworthy but not road trip-worthy, 2 hours from home. It's going to need a trans rebuild at some point. Also, I should have one, maybe two passengers. Maybe next year.
The 100 is current on maintenance and ready for a camping trip.

I have a friend with a jeep who has never taken it of the pavement. Can I invite him or is this a "Toys Only" sort of trip?
