I literally just got this thing ran fun when I bought it but barely made her home
1991 Hilux surf. The problem is when you try to accelerate to quickly or the truck is under load. I.e. going up a hill. Feels like e brake is on. Turbo light goes out and check engine light comes on. If you let off and go again it will drive until the problem occurs agqun .Only happens when it's warm tho. Local Toyota specialist have been at it for a while now with no results other then finding out it's only when hot. I read I'm another forum or will feel like the e brake is on when the check engine light comes on for over boosting . Please help. We just gave away our daily and 3500 for this truck and we are not getting any closer to being able to drive it. They have tried sensors and the ecu. As they have a parts truck to try from. Fault map maybe and does any one know if the 5 speed nd auto maps are the same .

Hi, I’m having the same problem with my 1992 2.4 turbo diesel hilux surf. I just picked up the vehicle, appears to have had an updated, larger aluminum radiator installed. Also the cooling fan runs whenever the ignition is on. It runs beautifully, until it’s under load, starting around 2700 rpm, the check engine light comes on.
