60 Series With 2H engine. Removal of oil pressure releaf valve. Is there any thing that will cause any dificulty in replacing it as sticking. The reason I ask is that I will have to have a coumtry mechanic doing the work and the mechanic speaks Spanish and I dont so will have to have a interpeter with me. Therefor any help will be apreciated.

Pablo .. if are you here in Panamá drop me a mail to tapage at 4x4panama.com easy stuff .. maybe a bit pain gaining access there but nothing to worry about that ..

did you already know for sure your oil press . ? ( by a mech gauge )

Its a dead easy job mate, the hardest part usually is removing the housing bolt, otherwise make sure you've got a magnet on a telescopic rod to drag it out and Robert's your father's brother.

It's sometimes hard to see the wear but between the relief valve and dirty or restrictive oil filters this will solve high oil pressure problems 9 times out of ten....usually....in a perfect world.

Keep in mind the 2H is normally ran at comparatively high pressure any way and most mechanics will just change the filter and watch for weepage.

Just did mine yesterday. Bolt head behind the power steering pump on the 2H is a 22mm. Pull it out, magneto the old valve, replace spring and barrel and call it a day. Took me about 20 minutes. Fixed my leaky leaky. When you look at the old barrel you will see the scarring and the out of roundness. The old barrel will look sort of like a scarred piston that got to hot. Very straight forward.
