Oct, 1975, VIN #211412. Cannot find VIN on frame. Someone got a good photo of WHERE it appears of the frame?

How does one know if it is an original engine?

The number is right in line with all the others on the graph :meh:

1975 FJ40

I just acquired a mustard yellow 1975. Frame # and driver side door plate match and read FJ40197671. The door plate says that it was made in April 1975. Engine # is 2F016783, which according to SOR is appropriate for that time period.

1976 FJ40
VIN: FJ40207793
Door plate says Sep. 75, SOR puts it Aug. 75. Been the object of some debate.
Engine # 2F042095

Matches up according to SOR, so I feel pretty confident it's original.

I thought engine, frame and vehicle numbers were suppose to match if its original none of them on this thread match. Here is my tag of my 76 FJ40 FJ40-228015 engine is 101979 If my memory serves me right the manufacturing date is 08/76. Its not on the sticker I have off the fender.

Hi, I have a very confusing Vin #
Mine is way too high in comparison to other on MUD.

Its a 3/1979 FJ40. VIN on chasis, firewall and title is fj40-917505
2F serial # 352129.

Any thoughts on why that is?

It's a Venezuelan FJ40, dunno if it makes a difference as vin numbers should be a world wide thing

Newer FJ60 block maybe?

VIN FJ40-308759
06/1979
Engine # 580066
