I'm getting ready to put another set of 285/75/16's on the cruiser.... I was thinking of BFG AT's again but I've had issues with them on past vehicles... I was looking for another AT recommendation and also possibly what the best tire is for the $$$??? The BFG's are usually a more expensive option and I've usually put them on because I like the way they look.... Thanks in advance for the help guys!!!

I like the Toyo Mt's we put on ours.

They have been performing very well in snow and ice this winter. They did well in Death Valley last fall. I haven't run them in mud yet but just looking at the tread design you can tell they will self clear pretty well.

I like the Toyo Open Country AT's. They are expensive at about $220 per tire, but they wear pretty well and offer good traction in many different situations. I used to run them on my diesel truck and they provded plenty of traction for snow and mud extractions.

Nitto , Nitto , Nitto....they are very good value for money. Cheaper and quieter than BFG

X2 on the Nitto's. I've been running them for over 45K with great success. They are finally wearing enough that I'm going to get another set next month. Quiet and handle well on the road, do great offroad, and have performed very well in the Colorado snow!

i run 255/85r16 toyo m-55's on my 16" split rims....its not a 100 series...but its a tire to consider

I've heard great things about the Toyo M-55 as well, my next tire for sure (they are also available in the 285.75.16).

For the price conscious I'd go with the Nitto TG.

revos

I run the Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos. They feel good, look good, and wear like iron. Mine look new after 20k miles. Strongly recommend them.

x2 on Toyo OC ATs. I love mine. Much better on road mannerisms on road than my previous BFG MTs, but I think I knew that already.

Gaylon,
are you running the revos on your '06 with 18" rims? If so, is it the 275/65/18 size?

No, on the double aught. I do not think they make that size in a LT tire.

I'm running dick cepek fc-II's. They are similar to bfg at's, maybe a little more aggressive. I've only had them for 1500 miles but so far I am very pleased. I'm running 285/75/16. They measure 33" exactly. The shop I deal with prefers them to the bfg. They say they are easier to balance and keep balanced. A little noisier than stock but very tolerable and great snow and rain performance. You don't see to many people with them but I recommend them highly.

From what I have read and heard the M-55's are long living (50k++) but because of the hard rubber compound to get that kind of tread life you inherit a stiffer ride and not very good at all on snow/ice...

not quite the case...i have had mine on my rig for well over 5 years...great in snow...would be great in ice if i had studded them...they do have spots to put studs...they would still need to be drilled for them...and i get a great ride...the benefit of a radial tire...a much nicer ride than any BFG i had ever owned in the past.:D

Running then Revos on my 2000, love the look, ride & capability in the snow so far with 4000 miles.

Wow...good to hear but 180 off from another user out here in the West. What rig do you have them installed on?

So for someone that has had BFG ATs and Toyo OC ATs on their 100, which did you prefer more? Those are the two im down to for my next set in the next few months.

IIRC dude... you had BFG ATs... ;p
