The C270 is good in the rocks and around town. The TRD (Crane) #1 is a better mud cam (better rpm's) that also works well around town and in the rock. The C270 is not as good in the higher rpms as the TRD, but better in the low end. I prefered my TRD camshaft equiped 22re over my C270 cam'ed 22re in the snow, though they both worked well.
The C270 has equal intake/exhaust duration (212/212, favoring mid-rpm), higher lift (11.0mm, better lower end), and less duration than the TRD#1.
The TRD#1 has greater exhaust duration (214/224, favoring higher rpm), more duration than the C270, and less lift (10.5/10.9).
Do you need to pass smog? The more overlap (greater duration) the harder it can be to pass smog.
