For you folks with deeper pockets than me. Can't wait until 2044 when I can afford this.

LOL I just posted in the 100 series section as well and instantly got s*** about this being a prado and not worthy of the land cruiser name . Geez , looked pretty bad ass to me.
Haha just teasing of course, it is a great vehicle and I like how it looks too! I personally really like the 1958 trim.

=] Right.. I'm curious to learn more about it.

Feel free to delete this thread, just thought it was a cool share.

Haha I don't have the power to do that.
Feel free to come chat with us in the 250 section!
This is the most active thread right now

And only 156 pages, sweet =]

Meh, time to go tinker with my 100 instead and be grateful it hasn't rusted away yet.

I'll circle back in 10 years to get the official reliability verdict from new owners

Yep paid $12K 13 years ago and the 100 has given me a lot of payment free years. Very happy to keep going. These new car prices are insane.

the 100 is best Land Cruiser ;) Enjoy it!
I agree, now if I could just keep the rust from eating it alive.
Sorry mate, this US market pleaser Prado will not last 20 years. It will be in the junk yard together with Broncos and Defenders.
Yeah that appears to be the general feed back I learned. Darnit

1958 trim is awesome.
Question: how hard would it be to put the sway bar disconnect into this base model after purchasing ?

Gee, I sure see a lot of 20 year old 4runners/Tacomas/T100's on the road still ...

Remember, only the 70 series is a "real" land crusier, everything else are minivans dressing up for a glamping trip.

Some of the hate is downright comical. "Not gonna last" - this is gold haha - it's a J-code truck and was engineered and built accordingly. It'll be a top notch build like all other J-code trucks have been. Toyota is hanging their name on it after all.

To be fair we always have bad this "banter" amongst station wagon LC and Prado owners.

And old cruiser owners and new ones

It's just this time you have double that in one release haha.

Who knows the 250 might end up being the most loved and best selling LC in the US.

Since ever the English version of the Land Cruiser Wikipedia page does not list the Prado series (while most other languages do).
And if you go in the "Talk" tab you find 20 year old discussions where people bash others saying the Prado is not a real Land Cruiser and does not deserve to be on the page bla bla bla. What a joke even on an encyclopedic website supposed to be fact objective.

You know they have a saying here in the Middle East

It goes
"Never take the advice of someone who owns a lexus prado"
They mean the lexus Gx lol because it costs as much as some 200s/300s.

Let's be real though the GX 460 is a great car but you will always have owners of the flagship i guess looking down at the other vehicles.

Obviously no one is going to say that anymore with the new GX but yeah haha.

It's been happening for years way before the 250 and will continue to happen no doubt.

The prado looks cool though for the first time. So that's a change for sure.
