Toyota is still trying to outdo themselves from 15 years ago

2005-toyota-tundra-sr5-4dr-access-cab-4wd-stepside-sb-v8_4_800600.jpg

I had that one. I liked it even tho it was plain. I liked it even tho it was slow. I liked it even tho it sucked more gas than a trainload of concentration campers. I was never wild about the transmission. But I stopped liking it (and Toyota, in general) when it wasn't recalled for the ball joint (a recall that coincided -- conveniently, perhaps? -- with the warranty lookback at the time the recall was announced), and then the front passenger wheel literally fell off because the ball joint failed at 43K miles as I was driving onto the street where I live, with my young son on board.

I'm still trying to decide if there is any year of Tundra that I like...

Saw a stepside G1 Tundra just yesterday for the 1st time…….the taillights are an abomination.

I have a early G2 Tundra & to me it’s a easily replaced truck if I get hit.
The 5.7 pulls the boat & bigger brakes / wheelbase —
But house on fire - I’m grabbing the 80 keys, no contest.

—————

The current one - the looks do nothing for me but a crewcab & optional longer 6.5’ bed combined w/ some sort of smarter AWD / crawl control in the drivetrain, that’s the only selling points IMO.
That stereo screen shouldn’t be so damn big it isn’t flush to the dashline.

FACT: Everything new sucks until it’s old. Then it’s ‘why don’t they make them like they used to’.
I‘m referring to 60 series, -huge, gas guzzlers, who needs such a big wagon?
80’s - Bloated, never work off road, way too big!!
In 20 yrs let’s have another poll about this same truck. 🤨

At that point you’ll all be talking talking Newton force from the electric motor, and how to hop-up the magnet array to put down more torque.

I’ll be on the next plane of existence- so by then I’m not concerned in the least :D

And WTF type of poll here doesn't give the stinky option. That's BS. :p

@stinkyfj60

Pretty sure you CAN edit the poll options.
That could be fun! He could keep names but change to the order for the highest % of what he wanted to be the outcome :hillbilly:
