I lost interest in pick up trucks when they turned into family cars.

The only good thing about the bay area is that the parking spots and garages are too small for these stupid things so we are mostly spared from having to deal with them except when you start going east into the central valley.

Then you are in the middle of bro truck country and idiots driving through the city with their towing mirrors fully extended, and not towing anything.

Let the H8 flow through you!

I was looking through online reviews of restaurants and came across this cool mexican place that almost everyone liked, except this one guy. He gave it one star and said something like "great food, but nowhere to park." So I looked at google maps and couldn't see any problem; standard strip mall or whatever.

So then I went and looked at his other reviews: All he was doing was judging places on whether he could easily park his brodozer. Things like five stars for places everyone hated and comments like "Food is just ok, but plenty of parking for my F350 Dually".

Toyota has to offer more than one engine for this platform to be successful. All the other half tons have a V8 option for a reason.
If just a TT V6, then they will not take any market share.

One more pic release from Toyota

I get it.

Sort of.

For anyone who wants to watch the official info without watching the NFL, video, from Toyota, is up.

Rear locker and hybrid are both available, payload up to 1900+ pounds, now I need to see how well it fits in the garage and what the highway range is. Did anyone catch or find specs on the fuel tank size and highway mpg?

specs on the website are up too

will be interesting to see what kind of fuel economy the hybrid 437hp V6 gets

Some TLCA and MUD vets have classics featured in this 1:00 spot. @orangefj45 posted in the TLCA group on FB about it.

"Toyota aired the new 2022 Tundra commercial for the first time last night. It was originally supposed to air during the opening ceremonies for the Olympics but Toyota decided not to show any car specific commercials.
The commercial was shot near Barstow early this summer and I was asked to help with finding a couple of vehicles for the shoot. That’s how my shop truck along with a friend & customers HJ45 ended up in the spot.
Super excited, huge smile!

I just spent some time scouring the web for the “hybrid” specs.

IMO Toyota has TOTALLY missed the boat on the purpose of adding an electrical subsystem to the vehicle. A few more HP, and a bit higher torque numbers are nice, but the real value of the electrical side of a hybrid or EV is to open up other applications. The Tundra is sorely lacking.

FORD hit the nail on the head with the F150-EV. I personally want to be able to run my job site, house, and well pump (240AC) from the electrical side of the vehicle. The Tundra has none of that. At the rate that Toyota refreshes their vehicles, the new Tundra will be obsolete nearly at its release.

What a disappointment

FWIW - I currently put 2000 miles per month on my 80 at 12MPG and, while I’d like better mpg, I really want more capabilities.

That very will could be proper “hilux” but the kerning bothers my eyes. Just seems off.
