I was cleaning out the garage and realized I still have the new in-box SC that I ordered from CruiserDan for my defunct '97. I still have hopes of getting another '97.
Oofff. That's gotta be at least 15 years ago.

The Mistress needs a super charger, I hounded / reminded magnuson to make another 1fz run, the called ant told me they did but at the time I thought the price was high.

Back in the day, circa 2000, the kits were north of $4,000.00 on a good day. I paid just under that for mine. This means that anything close to $7,000.00 today is comparable.

That sounds about right

For as much of a hound as I was deep down, I had hope Magnuson would hook me up, nope.

Oh well, somebody's got a 1fz supercharger out there sitting on a shelf for the fair price. I just got to find it.

For what it may be worth, if I were able to do it over I would go with a 6.2 GM LS (which would be easy) or a Chrysler 392 HEMI. I'd push hard to make the HEMI work.

Do remember that I have lived with a supercharged 1FZ for only 24 years.

Ha! Oh I know your charged up, mo power is always mo better but I live in an occupied state, the best I could hope for would be a SC.

I have a new 1fz short block, once broke in I would love to bolt on 25% more HP & TRQ

FWIW, you sold me my kit I eventually sold - IIRC it was something high $3K from you circa ‘05, and sold somewhere in Obama 2nd term for some $6K.

Like you said, easier to make the HP / TQ w/ an LS3 or whatever - but swaps become either well documented or basket cases / orphaned versions of oddball parts.

I personally like the LS3 as long as you get a good one.
I don’t live in a state w/ emissions or visual inspections - oddly enough, was abandoned in WA state but my county never was big on them anyhow.
Lots of tractors driven on-road & ag/livestock in-county.

I need to start shopping for a good affordable TRD/Magnuson sc

I had a wits turbo on order. A mud member had one of the first turbo orders delivered and eventually decided to sell it on here. I purchased it immediately and then sold my spot in line for my wits. The sad part is the guy who purchased my spot in line never received his turbo. I really feel for him. That being said, at 8,200lbs if I had the $ I would do a new 6.2LS. Nothing beats the sound of that music.

@cruiserdan I have a bad cam 5.7 Hemi in the garage next to my LX450 I'll be building in the future...been thinking hard about pairing them together. Do you happen to have any resources for this swap? Everyone goes LS which is easy...but I have a Hemi already so...

I do not. I haven't gotten past the "man that would be awesome" part.

Direct Connection has harnesses and PCMs for stand alone in old muscle cars. Adapters, mounts and such would be all custom one-offs as far as I know.

OK, thanks.

I was about to mention that/them yesterday, but I was leery of the broken cam in the motor - that could snowball & I didn’t want to encourage what could become much, much more $$.

But I agree -

HEMI 80

— would be one heck of a callsign / Mud name.

392 with the ZF 8-speed auto. 485 horsepower, 470 pounds torque. Super well-mannered. I get 25 MPG on the highway with this (6-speed manual).
