OK, I ordered the primary tray replacement and billet battery terminals from Slee. They are great and all is well on the parts front. Tray is installed and ready to go. I set the battery only to find that the cables both need to be extended. Am I doing something wrong? Is this a true necessity, the is a total PITA IMHO?

Replacing the batt with the Group 31 AGM X2 from Batteries Plus.

If an easy to connect kit exists, please share the knowledge.

I wish Slee still sold this kit!

To OP i think the battery terminals on your battery are bolts, it would be the wrong battery terminals
I unscrewed the brass fittings that tighten the threaded terminals onto the top, the threaded pieces are then loose beneath the plastic. I tried removing them that way and, unfortunately I couldn't get it to work. If anyone has any better info, please pass along. I also tried getting the Northstar with the posts only and it was backordered into oblivion, so I opted for the "instant gratification" solution, no I am not a millenial....Baby Boomer. Who keeps up with that?

Which fitting? The bolt connections on the battery will have a maximum torque rating. Not sure on the Northstar, but for example the M6 terminal on the Odyssey PC1700 is only 60 in-lbs. Is it possible that you or someone else overtightened?

I ended up using my Dremmell to take the threaded terminals off the battery.

If you really want the old Slee extenders…you can have my old set (which I replaced with the billet).
BUT…I highly recommend biting the bullet and getting the new billet Slees. The old solution was the go-to at the time…but as as years rolled on, it presented a challenge in keeping all surface contacts at the various points clean…-specifically the “sandwiched” layers that became easily fouled by road crud, etc. I think this may be what led to creating the new ones—even at substantial cost. The new billets solve that issue, big time…and I don’t have to think about it any more.

I have a slightly earlier prototype of the Slee billet, so not identical, but really close…just so solid. I think they gave the new ones more convenient bolt sizes than this uses.

-It might be harder to appreciate the difference/expense without first going through earlier cleaning/fouling challenges…but I would do it.

Re the Pos(+) covers… Iwonder if they would fit mine since it might be a little different?

But anyway… These new one are the bomb.

Couple other cool details:
-One feature I truly love snd heavily utilize is….multiple ((like a TON) of solid attachment points.I put screws in all the unused threaded holes to keep them clean if I need them in the future. Here are ohotos. Wherever you see screw-heads, those are additional connection points. Some stacking is fine, but I’ve got options now if I need more…..

Other thing I LOVE is… No more lead clamps that eventually get all chewed up and need replacing. These things connect like a vise.

I have the Northstar with the auxillary posts. Was up against a deadline last year leaving no wiggle room for backorder during covid backorder and sawed the things off…since they allear removable opin unscrewing the brass on mine either. Didn’t think of warranty…but meh… I think a reasonable clerk at the boat place here could honor it. Maybe not… We’ll see, but hopefully won’t matter.

I believe the x2 is a rebadged Northstar like mine.

I'm in good company then. I took the brass fittings off and then filled the areas with silicone. Hopefully this will seal it up well enough. In retrospect, some high heat silicone or some other material may have been better. Dark here now. I'll post some photos tomorrow.
