OK, I ordered the primary tray replacement and billet battery terminals from Slee. They are great and all is well on the parts front. Tray is installed and ready to go. I set the battery only to find that the cables both need to be extended. Am I doing something wrong? Is this a true necessity, the is a total PITA IMHO?

Replacing the batt with the Group 31 AGM X2 from Batteries Plus.

If an easy to connect kit exists, please share the knowledge.

Maybe a photo from the top, showing where/how the terminals are too short? This is a common mod, many have done it (myself included).

Terminals are great, its the cables that need to be attached to the terminals. There is not enough slack in the wire to get it to work.

I'd give Slee a call. They should fit without any extension as those new billet terminals are longer and do not require an additional extension like their previously designed military terminals with aluminum extensions. Look at the pictures on their website linked below. Many of those pictures are from a Group 31 in a 200 Series. It does look like your terminals are being impeded by those studs, so you may have to cut them off in order to have the terminal go straight back and make a connection with the car cables.

OK, I'll give it a shot. Maybe i can take those posts off easily with a Dremmel.

Wow $75 for just the pos terminal. I thought it was a lot of money when I got the billet +/- terminals.
AGREED, I thought it was a mistake as well.

I had a similar reaction and talked with SLEE about it, it's apparently a very high temp rugged material meant to withstand harsher conditions....supposedly minimal markup, just high-quality.

It’s 3D printed, would love to know the actual material.

I guess the only downside is that any chance of a prorated warranty claim on the battery is null with the terminals cut off. the X2s are pretty reliable, but still…

then again with all that money going into brackets, billets and cover, the battery is a drop in the bucket 😂

Of course, one could always buy a battery without the extra post and avoid the problem entirely...

Dang, that's pretty overkill, but it is what it is as a 3D printed custom part.

Plasti-dip could work well here. Just clean her up well, mask off the key areas, and spray away.
