The DeWalts are out of the rock climbing game and putting our efforts towards overlanding in the future. Just sold Mitch’s 80 and he’s buying my 100 I started to build. Kinda sad but kinda not. His old rig is heading to a nice MUD family in UT that will put it to good use.

My Uncle was crushed but understood.:)

 Sad day for Mitch

:rofl:Washed the lx. today. Cause it was getting dusty.....

Replaced CV boots, both sides, on the 100. Not sure what has been going on, but the old grease looked like chocolate milk in all 4 of the boots. Not a tough job, but having access to a lift and getting some assistance made the job go well.

That's what was in my 4Runner when I got it. Started leaking out really bad when I put the lift in. Went ahead and just replaced both of them because I was afraid of what wear may have been on the joints. Maybe that's what Toyota factory grease looks like?

Josh help me build the front axle for the next project vehicle.

Some more overdue maintenance on the 100. Replaced the plugs and found 3 of the 8 seated but not tight whatsoever. Pretty evident from the picture which plugs were the culprits. Not sure if they had ever been replaced so at 154,000 miles probably worth the effort.

I had noticed both valve cover gaskets were leaking. When you can tighten the bolts with your fingers...go figure. Apparently they back themselves off over the years? Had replacement gaskets in hand, but will give this a few weeks and see if tightening the bolts takes care of them.

Crawled underneath and replaced oil in transfer case and rear differential. That crap smells.

Unfortunately the frame need some attention. One reason I bought the rig was because it came with the fifth wheel hitch. The installer welded metal to the frame, to connect the hitch, however his welding skills are not that great. And his painting skills were nonexistent. The rear bracket fell off when I tried to tweak it.

so that was attached to a 5th wheel hitch in the bed? i thought they were supposed to go directly to the frame not the spring hanger.

Don't know... will have to do research.
