Aside from OBD Link and techstream for codes you can connect terminals 4 and 13 on OBD port (remember port is upside down from picture) and obtain codes via TPMS light flashes. Instructions and codes on post #256 here
 
- 5 TPMS sensors have to be programmed into system. No way to code out with Techstream

- You can view PSI and tire temperature with OBD Link on 10-19 models...and your phone
TPMS is one area a generic OBD dongle is not generally going to work. There are a few out there but hard to track down. The one that comes with OBD Link will work.

- 460 TPMS Delete

- 2020+ can program new TPMS sensors without Techstream

I have an OBD II using it with Torque Android app. I tried to get TPMS individual tire pressures but didn't work. Perhaps I did it wrong?
Or is it even possible with the Torque app?
 
I really don't have much experience with Torque. It may read TPMS but what I found even with other software it boiled down to the OBD adapter.

There are massive numbers of cloned ELM adapters that aren't true ELM 2.0 which is needed for the TPMS on 460. The original one I got to work came out of Romania back in 2018

It is a crapshoot for TPMS specifically ... all I can say is this will work for TPMS readings on a 460

Like everything else price has gone up.. I think it was only $70 when I picked mine up.

One advantage of OBD Link though is they give you "ALL" the expansion packs for any supported vehicle year and make with the the bundle. You don't have to drop the $5-$10 for each vehicle like you do with OBD Fusion. This reads extended codes for lots of vehicles. It also gets regular firmware updates... this is something you don't see with the $20 cheap adapters.

I use it for reading extended codes on my Infiniti and Mazda as well.

Yep, mine's the $20 cheap deal I purchase about 15 years ago for my 100 series LC. I wasn't aware that these OBD II varied that much with features. I thought it was kind of like Bluetooth type dongle and all it did was read and transmit ECU info. Torque does have the ability to read TPMS but not sure if it'll do each wheel or not.
 
Whatever you get working for TPMS you will have to identify which sensor is which with pressure drops in each tire and update as you swap or rotate tires.

My sensors have been accurate to within a PSI or two of my gauge. Of course.. my cheap gauge may have the accuracy flaw too.

Convenient for me to be able to quickly check the pressure in all 5 tires. As noted above you can also monitor the air temperature within tire too.

The only ECU it can't seem to query codes on my '12 is the one for KDSS but you can always pull those codes via terminal wire connection on OBD port and KDSS light flashes on the dash.

Excuse my lack of knowledge but the OBD II, does that live in the vehicle and send codes and as you describe Tpms reading to an app? I’ve been looking for something to read actual psi. Is that how you interface with tech stream.
Second question. Are there any aftermarket tpms sensors that run to an app or in dash gauge?
I need to upgrade my tech knowledge it seems.
 
All of this data typically travels on a vehicle network called CANBUS


There are some other networks like LIN (serial) but data over CANBUS can be accessed via the OBD port on your vehicle.

The OBD Link I posted above with included adapter:

- Load app on your IOS/Android Devide
- Plug in OBD Link adapter to vehicle
- Pair Bluetooth
- Connect w/app on phone to your vehicle
- Add in gauges within the app of your TPMS sensors...

You are reading the PSI in your tires... I've made a little simple but it isn't far off from that

Not aware of a way to make this appear on the gauge cluster itself for a 10-19 model... 20+ it is built in.

Thanks for the info. Wonder if there is an aftermarket guage can get Bluetooth from the obd or app via the phone.
 
If one does go with a TPMS delete on a 460 be advised for '18+ ECU is higher up into headliner.

Wonder if that'll work for a AFS delete. Ever since I've had my rig lifted, the AFS light is always flashing, although now I don't even notice it. I've tried adjusting the sensors and everything. Now I'd just like the light to be off.

How much lift?

I don't believe it's the height of the lift, I think it may be one of the sensors. I've removed the two rear and tested them and they're fine. I need to locate the front one, take it off and test that. I believe there's only one front sensor.
Not sure how or why this happened, but it started when I had my lift installed. I seem to be the only one with the issue on MUD.

r2m: Can't remember if you pulled AFS codes with Techstream? OBD Link can query the AFS ECU as well for code.
