There's something very satisfying to me working on electrical systems. Mitch and I finally got around to adding the 2nd battery/ACR this weekend to separate the start and house circuits. Ran new 1/0 AWG welding wire between the batts, start batt to starter, house batt to cockpit distribution block, engine & body grounds and swapped out the old 2 AWG winch leads. Also took the time to yank out all the various relay harnesses we put in earlier and installed a Bussman Relay-Fuse Block to handle all his needs...cleaned it all up nicely and only one place to look if problems arise. Now we had the room to wire in the new roof rack light bar and rear work lights. Ran a dual USB & socket to rear of console and a Hella Plug (shock proof) in the cargo area for the fridg. Matched up all the switches, put the rear light switch in hand throttle location and the ACR manual switch where the alarm LED was. Works like a champ.

Only thing left on our list before the AR trip is extending the breather lines, fixed HAM Antenna and installing a new steering shaft seal...thanks @1MAC for hooking Mitch up with that part!

Wow. You both do great work.

To do or not to do is the question, The answer is, add a snorkel. A wise man once said, four score and seven snorkels ago, our brothers brought forth on this continent a great nation. Conceived in liberty and dedicated the proposition, hold my beer I got this.....

It's like Thanksgiving. Family is always welcome at my house. No invitation required.

How long did it take y'all? And did you guys take the door off to get to the last nut or so?

We did 4 in about 6 hours, but we had about 3 people working on each truck at any given moment, 2 trucks at a time. The hardest part of it was reaching 2 of the studs through the fender. Removing the door gave pretty easy access to 3 of the 6 studs, but squeezing your arm in there is still pretty tight. The center most top stud was the beast, reaching it with just the tips of your fingers, so a magnet to hold on the washer while you get the nut started was a big help.

We also had a nut zert kit on loan from Erik C, which made the bracket a breeze.

I'm out of town this weekend so help yourself. Kelly has it. Wasn't much in the way of supplies in that kit. I didn't find my stash. Replacements avail at Clark tool

You are the man! I appreciate you letting me borrow it and when you get back in town, let me know and I'll meet ya for dinner or something.

Per this link, they used 10-32 rivnut inserts and then 1/2" long hex heads...What'd you guys use?

Metric rivnut tool, so we used 5mm .8 pitch.

That write up says to use a 3 1/2" hole saw. Use a 4" hole saw. We used 4" on the 4 we did the other day and none of the hole shows with the snorkel mounted.

Watch this video if you haven't. Pretty much the same steps we used except we opted to take the door off. A lot easier in the long run. However, I wouldn't take the door off until you have test fit the snorkel to make sure everything is in the right place.

Mitch and I simply dropped the antenna down into the fender well and could reach all the nuts easily. Had to move the cruise out of the way I think or something else on that side... No door removal necessary or even considered. We don't have the buff arms u guys do though so could fit through inner well holes.

That's a good video to show how to install one of those things without spending a million hours reading about it. Thanks for sharing.

Also, for anybody who hasn't done it in the club, this link shows a couple extra helpful hits as well...more in line with how Dave did it.

These are "not" the 80 snorkel install photos you are looking for... - Expedition Portal

Yeah, if you and Mitch could come over and get those last two bolts for me, that would be greeeeaaat.
