I need to replace a cracked windshield on my 2016 LC. I called the Toyota parts department in my area, gave them my VIN, and they told me "sorry, looks like the discontinued that windshield". I had the windshield replaced 3 years ago and used a non Toyota shop and it wasn't a good install--a lot of road noise above 60 mph. I swore i'd only use Toyota if this ever happened again. Well, here I am and it looks like I can't go OEM. Any suggestions??

I simply cannot believe Toyota does not have spare parts for an item as integral as a windshield. Call another parts department?

@OGBeno any input on this discontinuation?

I personally wasn’t happy with the pilkington panel that was on my cruiser when I got it. The rain sensor bracket wasn’t attached correctly and the wiper defrost completely useless. But if it’s that or nothing..

What’s the VIN?

Multi-Part Supersession. One would need one of each part number.

Thanks for this @OGBeno. Just to make sense of this. The two parts you listed is what i would need. Can a california toyota dealer order them and install them? Or would i have an aftermarket shop order and ship to ca?

These parts are the correct parts for your VIN. You need one of each. You can order this part from any Toyota dealer-- they have access to the same information.

I just picked up one this week. Part number for my ‘16 was (56101-6A979).

I had a new OEM installed late last year - glad I insisted on the OEM.
Thought the same thing @bloc it does seem weird for that to be on a possible discontinued item. Glad @OGBeno can fact check these things!

I was able to track down an OEM in my area. The total to install the OEM is $1500 vs Fuyao which is $700 to install. Is it worth the $800 extra to get oem?

I changed the title to this thread since it may lead some to assume parts are being discontinued for a 2016.

Let me know if you would like it changed to something else
