2014 STR

The month and dates are approaching fast.

This year the STR will be May (1 those making it in on Thursday)2-4th.

This event has always been the Keefer's baby and again this year they will be planning it.

Brian will be adding to this post very soon about what part of OBX we will be staying in this year. As well as meal specifics and things like that




If you've never been to a STR or even to the Outer Banks then you need to go on this one. By far the most relaxing trip ever and past camp grounds we have stayed in have been great with some of the best views to wake up to.

This is 99.9% impossible for me to attend but I am still trying to find a way!!!! I have at least one if not two more chances after this year and then it is a 3K+ mile drive.

Can't wait to hear what you all have planned. This is one of those HAVE to go rides if you have never been before. As long as the weather is nice.

So as earlier trip pictures and video have been posted, you can get a feel for what is the Spring Tide Ride. I'm actually changing it up, as the new dates would be the first weekend of May 01-04. This is due to Frisco Woods hosting the WindFest again, the original weekend.

Frisco Woods has been the launch point of this trip and the map and reservations for your campsite can be made here:

The sites we shoot to reserve are in the top left corner of the map Soundside sites S23-30, and the wooded sites P25,35,42,43,44, and 65. If those run out, just continue down the map to the right.

We'll keep the format loose, and tailored depending upon who goes. Normally most of the time is either spent kayaking on the sound in front of the campsites, on the beach at the access closest to the campsite, or wandering.

One day we usually take a tour up the coast to the NC/VA line, it is a lot of driving in one day. We actually try to keep a strict schedule (very unusual for our laidback ONSC lifestyle) to make sure we do everything in one day (lighthouses, sand dunes, wild horses, and some exploring on the sand roads up near VA). Dinner has been at the Outerbanks Brewing Station in the past, and we usually make it back late that night.

But, we can make plans based upon who's going... I'm booking my campsite on Monday 17MAR2014...

It's always been a great trip, and open to any Toyota owner, in any club.

Don't push it on my account alone. I'm not sure if we'll be able to go. It all depends how my D60 swap goes. I'm selling my current front wheels/tires to Mike in mid-April, so it's got to start before then. The question is whether or not I'll be done by the second week of May!

I want to go to STR! I still have yet to attend one of these trips.
