Hi guys, I keep seeing 18" take-offs from 2014-2015 Tundras on Craigslist, and I'm curious if any of us have a set on a 200.

Wheels look like this on a Tundra:

Look like this unmounted:

I have searched but didn't find anyone running these. Does anyone know anything about these wheels - cast vs forged, width, weight, etc? Curious both how they would both look as well as work on a 200. Thanks!

Man, those look pretty good in my opinion. Struggling to justify whether to go with 18" BFG KO2s on the stock wheels, or to change the wheels, and whether to go with Rock Warriors (tough to find) or these Tundra 18"s.

In your esteemed opinions - if we're going to potentially do some decently-difficult trails for a stock LC, how much of a difference will the additional sidewall of a 17" mean?

if you black them out completely and get the TRD center caps they look like the tundra TRD wheels which cost a few times as much

I believe @Romer did that to a set for his 200

I am waiting for my set to come back from the powder coating shop. Should be about 2 weeks time. The 18"s are also super heavy compared to most 18" I normally deal with.

Did you happen to weigh them? The RWs are 22 pounds without the rings and 24 with.

The RWs can be found for ~350 at any Toyota dealer or ~800 if you wait for the right listing on CL, sometimes a little less.
The 18s will perform just fine as seen on recent threads posted here. I was changing size anyway (OE 20s) and want the most sidewall, deeper tread, higher load index, etc. (It would have been a harder decision with 18" already). The construction of the wheel is different. The RWs are forged and are stronger and lighter than an equivalent gravity or low pressure cast wheel. For me the lighter weight is more significant. The new E-load rated tire/wheel package is 10 pounds lighter than the original full tread P285/70/17 spare (including lugs) even though it is 4.5% larger diameter.

So Craigslist diligence has paid off - I found a set of Rock Warriors in very good shape (with old BFG KOs still mounted on them) last night for $400 locally, and picked them up this morning! I'm having my buddy at the tire shop pull the old/shot BFGs off, see if there's a second set of TPMS inside, and I will pick them up to clean them up and possibly Plastidip them. Then I'll order some KO2s.

Lug nuts: Are there lug nuts that any of you have used that are less than the $180 Toyota set? Seems like there are a ton of 14x1.5 sets on Amazon, and I would very much appreciate the input as to which ones would work (and save some cash.) Thanks!

Edit: quick follow-up - folks, do you think these 14x1.5 lug nuts will work for the RWs?

Nice find! They are usually never on CL for less than 750, and that includes rough sets, eBayers want 1000 dollars.

Regarding the lugs, those are a good price but there seem to be corrosion complaints with them and you can't put anything on the threads. The Toyota ones are high quality and triple chrome plated so the threads should hold up better over time.

What are you thinking on the Plastidip?

I am thinking of trying the Black/Metalizer on one side.

Can be done. Not my truck but I believe I found the photo in the forum.

They bolted right up, they were a set of take offs from. 2015 TRD Tundra, I believe they cost me $800 on Craig's list. The Michelin tires ride excellent.

Funny re: the lugs - and as an example of the kind of thing that really doesn't happen via Craigslist - the seller reached back out to me today and not only told me she had found the lugs and locks of the original TRD set, but that she would mail them to me. How cool is that?

Plastidip: I'm tempted to go with my tried and tested anthracite gray again, which comes out something like a gunmetal and also very close to the original finish of the Rock Warriors. I may start there, and potentially do the accent ring black, and see how they come out. I think your black/metalizer would also come out really well! The pearlizer also has a similar sheen, you might consider ordering a can to experiment with as well.
