ive been dealing with amplifier problems, the amp in question 86280-0wa30.

I know how jbl works, and apparently the 86280-0wa30 is only on the 2010-2013. Not even the same as the same year Lexus.

Finding a used one has proven difficult in the USA, plenty in russia, but its kinda difficult to understand and maybe shady. New ones are almost 800 to 1000.

The radio has no sound, and turning up the volume does nothing. This all started after taking battery out.

It worked briefly for a day, but then it has stopped today. Figure its a short in the amp.

Looked at other year lc amps and other models but plugs are different.

Will call torfab today to see if they have one. But its annoying that there are no used parts out there.

Would like to upgrade all, but without the a/c controls it would suck.

if you have a lead on a LC on a junkyard let me know.

I suspect the darn JBL 2 ohm speakers may cause a problem finding a suitable aftermarket amp, but perhaps someone more knowledgeable with car stereo can comment. It is my understanding that JBL is about the only one that uses 2 ohm speakers (everyone else uses 4 ohm).

Most OEMs that i have come across use 2-ohm speakers. Given that the JBL system has DSP built in, i don’t think that there is much option out there.

I've been trying to locate a less-than-$500 rearview mirror for my 2013 and apparently there is a wrecked 2014 in Rancho Cordova CA at Benzeen Auto Parts. Might be worth checking if it has the same part number on the amp?

My parts program shows your part number being valid for US URJ200s from 01/2012 to 08/2015

I found pictures of that 2014 by going to Car-part.com punching in 2013 landcruiser and searching for rearview mirror. You might have trouble finding your amp in the dragdown menu but I'd bet you can contact them for the part if they still have the truck.

Thanks, @bloc i contacted benzeen auto parts, and they dont have it. Torfab does not have it, Carpart gave me one result, and i have sent email to contact them. still around 500 bucks.

Its a shame parts cannot be found, and dealer prices are ridiculous. makes me want to sell it sometimes.

Really?

I was told that due to the 2 ohm speakers, that if you want to upgrade the JBL systems that you basically have to replace the whole thing with 4 ohm speakers, new subwoofer, new amp, etc. Perhaps they were just trying to sell me more stuff...

They would be right. If you add just the amp, then it may not sound good because DSP is located in the JBL amp...and the new amp may not be healthy for the 2-ohm JBL speakers...may blow the stock speakers. And if you just replace the speakers with 4 ohm aftermarket speakers, then the JBL amp won’t have enough power to make those shine.

Could you replace the 2-ohm JBL speakers with 2-ohm aftermarket speakers? Or would the JBL amp still not have enough power to make it worthwhile?

Have you traced the signal back thru the system? Tried other sound sources, etc. Seems odd to me that all channels would go out. I know there used to be some anti theft measures built in to radios. Maybe the battery change just tripped something. Would be a shame to buy an amp you dont need.

funny thing, after a few days it was working intermittently, and now its working fully, so i gave up...

who knows what caused it...
