Rear diff lock - NOt in the good ole USA.

The PT has outstanding FLEX. I believe it has an RTI score of 250 or so.

200 and FJ, two totally different vehicles. Just wish we could order 200s like we want them vs how toyota thinks we want them.

Yeah, ditto to the above ...

Not even going to discuss this.

Well you should. The advantages of the FJ cruiser are that it has better approach, break over and departure angles. Shorter wheelbase, rear differential lock, better performing off road tires and a classic manual 4wd selector transfer case.

Also the FJ cruiser is a FJ unlike the 200 series which has no J in the Toyota vehicle codes unlike all previous Land Cruiser vehicles.

I would take a push button gear driven transfer case over a manually selectable chain driven case any time. Everything else on the trucks are electric motor driven. How do you think the rear lockers works? So why is that ok, but shifting he transfer case with a motor is so bad? I always laugh at people that think that little mechanical linkage to the transfer case is such a big deal.

Actually I believe the model designation is URJ200, so it does have a J :D

If Toyota considers the FJ Cruiser a Land Cruiser, than I will too. If Toyota considers the 200 a Land Cruiser, than I will too ...

Honestly, Toyota has always had there s#%t together!

They are both in the Land Cruiser category. Yes, different attributes, but both "Cruisers" That's just the way it is in N. America.

Question: Are the 200's built in Japan? It is my understanding that the FJ's are built here? Which basically makes then s***tier, IMO ...

I think the FJ would win in a little duel, but I'll take the 200 anyways! I'd rather mod something that isn't modded very often, than mod a mainstream truck, that sits on every other block. That's the thing I'm not liking about FJ's, they are turning to Heeps. Very, very mainsteam! "hhaaa, let's go buy an FJ, even though I can buy a locked 80 for 7 grand that will woop its ass, let's go buy one so we can be cool guys!"

Personally, I don't consider the FJC a "Land Cruiser" but if others think it is, well great. I am definitely not going to lose any sleep over whether it is or is not ! I drove one the other day and while I can't attest to its off-road abilities, the thing seemed very claustrophobic to me . Not nearly enough windw area to see out of the thing to my liking (especially the rear 3/4 view). To me, that is a very big flaw, especially in many off-road situations. By comparison, both my FJ62 and RRC have lots of window area that is very beneficial off-road. Lots of visibility out of the rig is a big deal as far as I am concerned ! Those "gun slot" windows might be neat and trendy but they sure don't do anything for visibility, IMO.

Yeah, that's what Peterson's said when they built the ultimate FJ, that they couldn't see out of the damn thing. Same problem with the H3, except that's only one of 1000 on that :D

I just realized how much of a huge Hijack all this is

Ya, and so does a Jeep. You don't compare a URJ200, a UZJ100, or a FJZ80 to a POC FJ Cruiser. Two totally different vehicles. One is a low-cost POC wheeler. The other is the best constructed vehicle on the planet and it happens to wheel the same.

Give it up!

Why don't we move the Land Cruiser vs. fjc comparo to a seperate thread and let this one get back on topic....

oh where to begin...

THIS THREAD BRINGS DA FUNNY!!!

And the FJC, as much as IH8 to say it, is a "Land Cruiser" as much as the 200 is a "Land Cruiser", sorry!

Is this a "Land Cruiser"? :D

Or this?

IMO its a fruitless evaluation to compare things technology has improved, to the vehicles that were the reason in the 1st place things were improved.

Gee, compare a carb truck to an EFI'd one?

And sorry, but that $60K "staticemobile" would get killed by my mini if it had the budget of what the 200s tires cost in upgrades....

Economic$ dictated the FJC (and what'ya know?, the 200 to!), not anything else. No matter how much we wish it was different. :frown:

Dis iz me  Only, it's a Land Cruiser!

No need to get hung up on the name of the vehicle. Buy what best fits your needs.
