It is easy just ask for technical detail and specific information, then he has to keep quiet to prevent embarrassing himself even more :grinpimp:

If Toyota listened to the folks on Mud they will never release a new model in the US again, as most folks seemingly just like to bash any new model they don't own. Yet the FJC is probably the most successful offroad vehicle Toyota has ever released in the US, given the sales in the first 2 years, the large aftermarket and basically cult support status it has already achieved. AFAIK the aftermarket for the FJC has surpassed any other US model ever launched and it has only been out 2 years. The FJCs probably have covered more and harder trails than any other model since it's initial release as well. Hopefully the 200 can achieve similar results even if it is just on a smaller scale.

Anyway enough said about this blah blah, this thread is about the 200 and offroad pix of it. Maybe a mod can clean up this thread as it is so far off topic it looks like it is on topic actually.

Why do you feel the need to turn John's last name into a "curse" word. This cursing of yours needs to be brought to the attention of the moderators. There is no place for that kind of misconduct here !!

I had a FJC, and I think it performed great off road. I think it is a bit lighter duty in build, but it is a good bit smaller as well. I think the FJC is a lot lighter in weight (it feels like it) than the 100 too.

These are just my opinions however. Properly built, like a properly built 100, you can go just about anywhere in a FJ Cruiser. All vehicles have SOME faults, but luckily we live in a great country where we can solve those factory design flaws, and rebuild them into the true trail machines we love.

That's about all I have to say on that :)

look at your keyboard.

at least i'm not a racist tool.

More name calling and personal attacks, huh ?? Not too sure how that falls into the category of tech but I'm sure you'll rationalize it in some manner ! Let's see..Shotts=s***z and I'm a racist tool. Seems to me you are the one with the issues !! Ok, that's all of the time waisting for now. Nice to chat with you again !! :)

How did this thread go from "200s off-road pics" to whether or not the FJC is a "legitimate" member of the LC family?

I'm personally split on THAT issue. While I agree it is a "member" of the LC family, I definitely do not consider it a proper LC any more than a 4Runner or GX is a Land Cruiser.

But !! While the current LC wagons have morphed into highly comfortable, capable, AWD beasts, the FJC actually fits the FJ's originally intended purpose much more closely than the 100/200 series LC's. Does that make the 100/200 any less of a Land Cruiser...??? I say, absolutely NOT !! The fact still remains that until Toyota sticks an L between the J and the C IT IS NOT A LAND Cruiser. There really shouldn't be any debate over that very simple, provable fact.

Let's get some more ARB outfitted 200 pix on here, fast !!

I think they did their homework on the 200 but it is evident they did some cost cutting and lacking a bit of the intangible.

We have had a 200 in the shop now for some time for some major work and prototyping. I can assure you there was little cost cutting in that truck. There are so many details under the skin that is not obvious until you start taking it apart.

Yes the plastic bumper suck for the aftermarket, but the build quality is there. Yes, there is a lot of plastic, but the execution is good. Underneath the truck is much more refined than the 100.

Just pull one of the front struts and look at the bottom mount compared to a FJ or a even the Tundra. It is huge and overbuilt. Most everything on it is.

That simple fact alone is one of the main reasons I have been drawn to LC'c over the years. The "over built" aspect is why LC's have the respect they do.

Posted this in the other thread as well.

that is really good to know. i actually thought the running gear was impressive but my impression was from the interior. A bit on the plasticy side

it's good to know that they beefed it up even more than the 100, that should pay dividends as you mod.
