Trying to asnswer the question no one has officially asked (yet)...

LX570 Pros
a) Beautiful interior
b) HDD
C) AHC
d) Ventilated seats
e) Excellent motor/tranny
f) Dealer experience
LX570 cons
a) AHC (some consider it a +, some a -)
b) Non removable running boards
c) No front bull bars available (at least at this point)
d) Exterior not as tasteful as LC200 (excess chrome trim, taillight design, wheel design, front end design, etc..)
e) Price
f) Same powertrain HP as LC (could have HP increase to differentiate it more from LC)

200 LC Pros
a) Tasteful (if not somewhat bland) exterior styling
b) Excellent powertrain / tranny
c) KDSS
d) Aftermarket parts availability
e) Removable running boards
f) Price (as compared to competitors)
g) Land Cruiser heritage and world wide reputation
200 LC Cons
a) No HDD
b) No ventilated seats
c) Some interior trim pieces lower grade (not cheap by ANY means) compared to 100 series and for vehicles price point
d) Price ($70K+ for a Toyota ??!!!)
e) Service experience (treated not too much better than someone in a Corolla)--Expect more for such a $$$ vehicle !!

I tried to be as subjective as possible but some things are of personal preference. I am sure someone will correct me on some of these !! ;) Please ammend as seen fit ...

What is HDD?

Hard Disc Drive..Storage for music, pix, other useless info !! Techno crap..Good example would be the MyGig system that Chrysler put in all sorts of Heeps, etc.. Kinda hard to believe that a $70,000 LC doesn't have one. I'm not 100%, but don't Toyota puts one in any vehicles (yet).

I have never heard of any Toy having it. To Be honest....my 160gb Ipod does just fine.

All you'd have to do is download the stuff from your IPod to the HDD and it would be one thing less to worry about..I'm sure the LC will have one very soon..Hopefully '09 !!

BTW..Hows the ARB coming along ??

Waiting for the call from the shop that the bumper is in.

I just ordered some Nitto Terra Grappler 285/60 R18[FONT=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica].

Got 5 of them, had to special order them .

I figured they are more useful then he HID driving lights for the bumper right now.

You will enjoy the Nittos...I have been super pleased with mine. They also make a huge "look" difference. All my buds have commented on how much better the truck looks with them (but with ARB and your steps, you have nothing to worry about looks).

I just took the time to read this info. I'm not familair with the 570 since we decided to not buy a 200. I'm puzzled by one thing?

"Non-removable running boards"

How is this? There's no way? How does one add sliders?

The design is totally different than the ones on the LC. They are a fixed part of body trim. They are not designed to be removed as were the ones on the 100 series LX. I seriously doubt sliders even being considered without some major R&D going into it..The LX is marketed to the Escalade, Navigator crowd, pretty much anyway. I guess in theory they "can" be removed but it would look awful. Like a piece of the car was missing ! The LX isn't intended to be wheeled in any seriousiness.

WOW! Well then Toy/Lex was stupid for not IRS'ing the rear end for ride improvement and added space. That was the plan a couple years back. I guess it cost more in tooling, etc for different designs. WOW!

It almost would have been more logical for Lexus to have used the Sequoia platform (IRS, xtra space, etc..)..But the Seq is built here in the states (isn't it?). That might have been one reason. Anyway, I don't know that much behind the reasoning of such things. I just know the LX570 doesn't appeal to me in the least bit.

May be it is possible to swap the whole board with LC not remove it. And then add a slider.

I wonder if underneath of the two vehicles is the same. I mean I know the differences, but is it possible for instance to through away LX suspension with adjustable hydraulic shocks and springs and install OME for instance, as it was possible on 470 model?

200 LC Cons
e) Service experience (treated not too much better than someone in a Corolla)--Expect more for such a $$$ vehicle !!

This is the one thing I hate most about owning the LC. I go into a Toyota dealership and get none of the perks that a Lexus owner gets. I bring my Lexus in and get a rental car just for a 20-minute oil change...and a free inside/outside car wash!

Not to mention that they will even pick up and deliver my car for free for anything warranty related.

No dealership can top Lexus. I just wish Toyota recognized that the LC is no Corolla.

I agree but maybe there in lays the real brand differentiation requested by an earlier poster.

The LX570's running boards are removable, they are just huge trim pieces.
I love the interior it's awesome and although I hate the looks in pictures, in real life the LX looks very imposing and "Land Cruiser-ish"

I wish the LX's interior was avail in the LC just because the LC's suspension is better for offroading. The LC looks good but doesn't quite have the quality look of the LX.

I completely agree. Whenever I get into my fathers LX570 I mention how much I love the interior. If I could just purchase the steering wheel and install it without any issues I would in a second.

I would buy the LC200 before the LX570 anyday, while I love the LX interier I hate the looks of the front (looks like a "girl") whereas the LC200s front looks very handsome and "tough" with the giant headlights I couldnt see someone putting an ARB on an LX570 with that front...both are top quality vehicles though.

Also I second the Toyota dealerships not recongizing LCs as a whole different Toyota animal, last year I drove my FJ40 over to the dealership to drive a LC200 and get some pics parked beside each other and a salesman stopped me and said "is that the new two-door FJCruiser?" I swear I think he was serious...

x2...when I stop by the dealership they just love my Sequoia with the fancy bumper.

I think im leaning towards a used 570 in about a year.

A small contribution,

Interesting; all Japan standard LCs (made for the Jp market) are very similar to north america's LXs, I had a 1998 100 LC that was as equiped and possibly excceded the US LX470, they even looked identical, and my 2008 200 LC comes standard with some of these whistles; HDD…, they look deferent this time though and on the other side, Jp 200 LCs carry an improved version of the same 4.7L V8 instead of the 5.7.
