I was told by the previous owner that my vehicle is installed with Ironman 4x4 suspension shocks.

I find it quite stiff but has great road handling abilities and it's rattle free.

When tarmac roads are bumpy, it bounces quite a fair bit and can be very uncomfortable for me.

Now I'm on the thinking of replacing them with original suspension shocks, of cos the looks will not be cool and height will be lower than now. But with comfort in mind. This could be the road I'm heading.

Also I heard there is a higher end option suspension shocks (usually found in 4.0 version of the trj120) which height and softness can be adjusted? Correct me if I'm wrong. As I'm probably looking at this option too. Can this be fitted?

Can anyone advice on this? Or is there other options available?

Thanks :)

Can you get a close up of your front coils? Can confirm. You can change the spring rate in your lift (Iron Man sells different springs) to make it less harsh.

You may also want to consider Radflo or Icon suspension.

Numerous forum posts comment on the stiff ride of Ironman and Old Man Emu (OME). Proper spring rate is important for a "smoother" ride. Improperly match spring rate to your vehicle will cause a stiff ride with any suspension.

I have ran OME on my hilux, FJ40, and FZJ80. Not loaded down the OME was stiff. Once loaded with bumpers, winch, gear, etc the ride was great.

Tires? Maybe some bigger tires at the proper pressures will help. Those look well undersized for the truck.

Many regulations here in Singapore on tyre size to be approved for road use.

However there are some that never follow the guidelines.

Thanks for the recommendation. I did think when full of load, it may ride better.

Your spring rates definitely look too high. Zero compression at rest means they "bounce" over bumps vs down travel.
