Hi all, thanks to those that helped answer questions when I was looking. I pulled the trigger on this beauty: 2006 LX 470 with ~126k miles. Living in Boston, it's going to be my winter daily driver (bike commute in the summer) and number one vehicle for camping and ski trips (with two ~70 pound dogs in tow).

One thing I'm interested to learn more about: I've tried to read up on the issue of the integrated infotainment system on these LXs. I've read a bunch of the threads on the emerging options for the Tesla-esque screens that keep the integrated A/C, audio, etc. Are there any other options to separate out the AC and replace the original integrated touchscreen with a more traditional head unit? What would this entail? Thanks!

An option is the Grom VLine VL2 (Select Lexus Toyota 2006-2009 VLine VL2 Infotainment System Upgrade Video Interface). Plugs in in place of the CD/DVD changer, and uses all of the factory gear for inputs. No change to climate control at all. Easy to install, and factory look (and loads cheaper than a conversion). But...the factory look might be a downside for you. The screen in the LX is not as nice as a modern head unit.

I have it, and love it despite its flaws. I'm an Apple guy, so I just push it into CarPlay every day and take it from there.

Do you have the vline or vlite?

Not sure if this can be done in the later models. The NAV / info center doesn't bother me, so I looked into it.
