Has anyone else had an issue with losing your AM/FM radio signal? I searched forums and was only able to find threads pertaining to NO power or antenna mast cables breaking—neither of which is my issue.

I can only get 100% static on all but 1 radio station (AM or FM).

Before today, I assumed it was an antenna mast issue, so I replaced the automatic mast and checked all the connections with the unit behind the wheel well, and everything seemed fine—no lose connections, melted wires, etc.

Unsure of what/where to check next.

though i do get radio stations, ive been very disappointed with the quality of radio the factory system provides. Seems like the station fades unless you are relartively close to the broadcasting antenna.

This in comparison to my since deceased '97 chevy astro van.

so, am considering going to a specialist (shop).

w/r to your sitiuation, I remember reading here on mud of a situaton where the mast cable was not even connected to the radio. Not sure how to check that w/o removing the unit from the dash.....a big job in my world.

Yeah, probably not worth it to remove entire dash. Just so odd to randomly lose almost all AM/FM reception.

Thanks for chiming in.

You don't have the year of your truck in your sig or if you're working with the OEM unit or aftermarket, so spitballing here if it's NAV or not, but removing the head unit isn't that big of an ordeal. Several threads and FSM instructions on that. You could check if the antenna connection on the back side has worked loose and also simple multimeter continuity from that connection to the antenna mast. 100 series also has two antenna feeds, the regular mast and then the glass embedded one in the PS rear vent window.
