Boy have I messed up! I replaced the lock/unlock motor on the drivers rear door and now after a couple days the door will not open from either the outside or inside handle. I am assuming that I did not properly flip the plastic door opening rod holder and it disconnected. Does anyone have experience with this or a suggestion on how to open the door with out ruining a door panel?
PLEASE HELP!

Local tow company with a lock-out tool kit???

drivers rear door will not open on 04' Lexus LX470. Finally removed the door card(not fun) and now everything seems in order except the door will not open. Is there anything I can do to get the door unlocked and opened so I can find what the problem is?

Clarify, it will not open from the inside handle, our the outside, or both. Does the lock swith move/click when you lock or unlock the vehicle.

Clarification.....Door will not open with the outside or inside handle. The lock motor is working and flips the rocker switch at the inside door handle. it shows unlocked but will not open.

Got it fixed! I had replaced the lock actuator motor and after I got the door opened I removed the actuator again and found a return spring end out of place. Put it back together and seems to work fine.
Thanks for the replies!

Curious… how did you get the door to open?

Apparently that spring somehow limited the stroke on the mechanism to unlock the door. I removed the switch panel and screws under it and the release handle. It also removed the color coded pins on the sides of the door card(broke one). I then pried the door card up from the bottom using a flat metal bar along the bottom to prevent damage. I could only get it up about 5/8 inch. I then went to the top to attempt to get the top loose. There is a piece of metal mid way that holds the panel to the door frame which I had to be very careful in prying so as to not break the glass. Once I got the door panel where I had room to get my arm in the door cavity I took the rod loose door handle and push down on the lever and magically the door opened. That’s when I took the actuator apart and found the spring end out of place

I’m having exactly same issue. Door is close shut. What can I do?
