Hey guys,
I just purchased an automatic 100 series from a single owner in Seattle with 58,000 miles and the Navigation unit. Super pumped. Car is in great shape ( save faded door trim and some peeling paint on bumper corners). Paintmeter shows all orig paint no accidents). All maintenance items taken care of including the Timing Belt. I am having some stereo issues however. The car's driver door speakers were blown and CD player is not loading...horrible broken base sound with any music so I replaced that with stock speakers along with the tweeter. That fixed the issue on the driver side, but not sure the passenger speaker wasn't compromised when the Driver side blew. The passenger side seems louder at same volume than the new driver side speakers but not great depending on input. Here are my questions
It seems depending on the source, the music will sound crappy or clear. If I run a iPod mini through he tape player it's horrible. If I run an iPhone it's better. Radio clarity/sound is good on certain stations and poor on others. I know there is a 300 watt or so amp in these cars, should I be expecting much? I had a 1994 loaded 4 runner with an amazing stock stereo back in the day so I'm not sure what to expect. Not sure if I should go ahead and replace the passenger speakers as well.
Looking forward to the Forums!
