2003 LC kicks when I accelerate at red light.

Hey y’all. Quick question and some advice please...
So I stop at a red light and when I start to accelerate it “kicks” and goes. Doesn’t seem too abnormal but it tends to do it when I’m in gear and stopped and a red light and only when I begin to accelerate. Does this sound familiar?

What do you mean by 'kicks'

Like kicks into gear. But I can hear and feel it kick into gear.

But it only does it when I start from 0mph. It doesn’t make a noise or kick any other time.

Check your transmission fluid level.

I checked it. It looks fine. But what do I know lol I’m a newbie under the hood. I’m new getting the trans fluid next week to see if that’s what it is.

Search "driveshaft clunk" and go down the rabbit hole.

Could be torque converter...but that’s an even deeper rabbit hole.

My FJ cruiser did this after we bought it. Does the motor Rev up then kick into gear or does it just kick?

If it revs then kicks your fluid could be low thats what fixed my issue.

Does that year LC have a transmission dip stick? My FJ didn't.

Mine does something similar. When I let off the throttle going at a steady speed above 40 mph then get back on the throttle, I can feel a slight thump.

I did search torque converter and drive line slack, and came up with the conclusion that it's normal... But is it? Maybe

That is "normal" either need to lube drive shaft or replace hub flanges. It was both in my case

I greased the drive shaft fittings and it fixed it for the most part
