Wow that look nice. Can You shot a photo of your shift knob ? Is this scion trd one PTR51-00110 ? Its nice because its shorter than stock one.. thinking about same one.

Hi Lexus maniacs:) not much happen with my gx due to no time... but Saturday is close :) meantime im trying to find half a hour everyday to move it on. This week i redo armrests with new leather covers, to my surprise they look awsome, better than from factory because they are thicker. You simply put leather over old leather.
I bought and painted front calipers from gx460. just waiting for rotors from EBC with green stuff pads. For rears just new calipers duralast gold brakepads and centric rotors. waiting for sunny warm day to get job done. I wont be surprised if that take 2 or 3 days, always something pop up , rusted lines or something else , hopefully not but i know how it is with old cars :) anyway since brakes and wheels will be of i will clean frame , get rid of rust , get some rust disolver and repaint everything and deep bath in wax inside frame just in case...

You're going to be really happy with those EBC greens. They dust a lot more than the OEM pads but the stopping power is night and day.

Thanks for info
Safety first for me especialy my wife will drive it too ;) nothing will be worst than bosch brake pads !

Yeah with the way the wife drives I said that those are a must when I upgraded

another saturday another work.

whats done today :

strut for rear door
new spark plugs
fresh synthetic 5w30 supertech with mobil1 filter. Will see how it works. I always was using royal purple hps , walmart oil has good reviews, and beats much more expensive oils in tests.
since front engine skid plate was off i did some cleaning of front frame support, suspension etc, i have used rust converter and this product : Amazon product ASIN B003CT49AS

time for wheels brakes and timing belt.

hi thx. i didnt use anything special for now... just superclean all purpose cleaner :

purple power does same job but its 2x 3x more expensive.
Once car will be ready i still have to do some dressings to plastics and leather. not yet :)

everyday duties doesnt leave much time for gx but little by little Im working on wheels. Two are painted.
aluminium primer ( rustoleum )
base paint ( rustoleum graphite wheel paint )
most important - good clear coat , in my case i used spraymax k2 clear glamour epoxy paint once activated its good just for 48hours, totally worth to spend 20$ per can.

timing belt kit is here, contitech serpentine belt, new thermostat gaskets etc
these weekend i will probably work on brakes if weather will be fine :)
getting there, slowly but getting there ...
looks like rear shocks seen better days so decided to replace them too, i dont want to jack car again , take wheels off etc. everything at one shot. do it right. thats it.
I didnt pay much for car it self plus all work is my work so I can spend little more on parts whoch is big savings.

few shots of first wheel, spare one so im not worried that much , its more like school, second one came out much better.

Wow! Good deal fixing the problem and your cleaning is definitely more in depth than mine. Congratulations on the new ride.

Welcome fellow New Jersian! Burlington county here.

I was surprised how much peeling my wheels had but I don’t care since half the time they will be dirty anyway.

thanks GX460fan i know i know its obsession to keep everything clean tools cars house :) I like detailing im not pro but just feel better my self when everything is in good order. Most of people will say im sick and wasting time. For me its ethic of work and respect to my self my money and my work.

uhhh what a long sunny saturday ! i started with undercoating half of truck is almost done then i exchange old rear swaybar links ,
new centric rotors, duralast gold pads and new calipers ( callahan) Im so surprised how simple is to swap those brakes. seriously it can be done in 30mins if You have impact gun and good jack. So this is done, tomorrow I should receive rear shocks ( i will stick with original air setup since it works great and i will probably be offroad maybe few times at summer since im new to it... along with addiction it always can be swaped to something more serious. For now i want to enjoy quality ride and get some experience with that kind of truck. I never had real SUV truck so sorry Guys I know You will tell me get rid of side boards get real man suspension but not for now it would be waste of money to do it just to have it. :)

EBC set for front was backordered i was waitinf since 3weeks for delivery and it was delayed to middle march i cant wait that long so i canceled it and ordered centrics rotors and akebono pads right away. Just got them today, thanks God for time change ! finaly can work on gx little longer after work before its get dark. Wish to have nice big garage. but it is what it is Im moving forward. Next saturday my neighbour will do timing belt. This is only thing i dont know how to

enjoy few shots from yesterday !
