Fantastic job, sir!!!!
Are the GX460 rotors and calipers larger than GX470?
My only suggestion would be to use a large washer for the door strut mount(on the underside of the door itself). I have seen guys put a flat piece of aluminum bar there to avoid warping of the strut mount/rear door. Thoughts?
I am amazed by your attention to detail and a record speed you're moving with this project!!!
I too did a project last summer - a barn find 1997 Celica GT with 200K miles. I've done the timing belt, water pump, oil pump seal, valve cover gasket, spark plugs, PCV valve, front brakes, clutch fluid, brake fluid, coolant, engine oil and filter, all struts and interior and exterior detail. I've started a youtube channel and am going to post the Celica videos soon (takes too long to edit them). Check it out, if you're interested: Maxim’s DIY Garage

Yep, got about 30 videos on Celica, I maxed out my iCloud, lol. Just need time to edit them and put them out. Stay tuned!

I cannot express how impressed I am with your progress though. It is Youtube worthy, even if you do a photo compilation, like I did on the pre-sale photos on my Celica. Let me know when you get your channel started, I'll be sure to subscribe and follow as you have a great talent and great respect for machines!
Cheers!
As a matter of fact, subscribed already to encourage you to put content on your channel, Superbohater AS!

Yupp thats me which means superhero As in english . Polish version of superman 😂 Your mightyvac video helped me already seriously i didnt know how that thing works. Yesterday i used long wooden stick between brake pedal and driver seat to bleed rear brakes. Before i start doing fronts i will buy same thing as you did. Videos are nice and its nice to have some audience and help them but at that point im not that good i have to ask my wife she has some build in video maker in her sh*tphone ( iphone 11 max pro) maybe she could help me. Im staying away from facebook insta and all this time killers :D my other problem is my english is not that perfect as i wish it to be plus u know how its with car works sometimes you have to do 1 thing 10times before you find right way to do it. Im afraid it could be to many bad polish words hahaha. Thanks Maxim

lol. Bad Polish words like Suka or Kurva Mat'?!
The video was on the Celica with simple brake system without ABS. I would be careful with the mighty vac and the GX470. There is a special procedure for trucks with a brake booster. You may want to research that first before using the Mighty Vac.

Another day another adventure ! One of rear shocks is done. It was 22c (over 70f) here in NJ. So right away after work i started work on gx. Took me 1h30min to replace that strut. Would be faster but i had problem to loose that top nut. End to end i grabed grinder and made it right. Two cuts like on surgery ;) on in half of shock it self other under that seized nut. Voila ! Finaly back is almost done. New shocks new rotors pads calipers and sway bar links. Tomorrow another on deiver side and i will be able to move to front. I should be done till saturday hopefuly. If not that nut it could be done in 40mins
Tomorrow i wont think to much. Grinder plus new disc and lets go ;) it could be done in 40mins with impact gun and grinder at first hit. I did that first time. Im impressed how easy acess it is! How well designed this car is. Enjoy Gentlemans. Cheers

What i have note car is slightly higer on replaced side;) it means other shock has enough too. Time to send it for retire ;)

Thanks for advice Maxim . Ooooo yeahh belive me so many ku*wa mac been sold today to that rear strut ! But result paid back Suka is russian and means bi*** pretty same as ku*wa but qith that difference ku*wa can be used anytime as point as end of conclusion u ask call somebody, its more as expresion, and most important it always give u relief. Like emergency pressure valve at boiler hehehe. But lets stick with good words. I have used to that, im electrician so when anybody figoure out where Im from I always here same answer in 98% cases oooo U Polish... KU*WA hehehe nothing to be proud of , just saying ;)

If anybody is interested struts are made by luft meister of amazon they were around 250$ for set. Quality seems to be decent but i cant tell more yet.

One more thing:
IF ANYBODY HAVE FOR SALE :
FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOWER MOLDINGS , THAT PLASTICS PLEASE CONTACT ME. IM MISSING BOTH. IM WILLING TO BUY THEM. COLOR DOESNT MATTER.

thanks

Great job Timonek!
I'm your russian brother from another mother, lol! Thanks for clarifying the bad words. Let's stick to the good ones. Positive energy attracts positive energy!

$250 for a set of 2? Thats insanely cheap! I have see them for $800/set of rear struts! That is an awesome price you bought yours for!

By the way, it looks like that right rear e-brake cable is slightly frayed... I wonder if that's from that sway bar rubbing on it when the original airbags gave out?

What a small word ;) yeahh u are right! I know toyota stealers always had high prices if not highest of all brands. These are aftermarket but even if they survive half long as oem i will be happy. Looks like old ones were still original toyota products. Today i realized one had a leak so it was right time to do it. Cheers Maxim
Btw im Kamil ;) Timonek is my dog 😆

Oops, sorry! Pleasure to meet you Kamil!

I decided to keep my original suspension too as I will not be hard-core off-roading any time soon. You just can't beat that stock ride and adjustability.

Regarding e brake. Yes insulation is damaged a little but that metal cover ( i would call it BX as electrician 😅 is fine so it doesnt bother me that much. I inspected brake shoes grease most important points etc and seems to work but worst problem i have is when u pull e brake it doesnt stay up but e brake it self works when u hold handle up ( tested on nutral uphill on driveway when u let go handle car starts rolling. Looks to me like some of that holder inside tunnel under handle is broken or need to adjusted
This im leaving as last thing... maybe im wrong too;)

Very nice work! You move quick. Best of luck with the truck. I just bought a similar color/option 2004 that I am rebuilding, lots of the jobs you're doing I need to do as well so this thread is great inspiration.

Great job Maxim. Don't worry about the English, several of us are from the US and ours isn't much/any better than yours
