Anyone out there converted a 2003 or newer uzj100 from automatic to 5 speed manual? I know this was available in the UK with the V8. Also, any pictures of V8 5 speed manual 100s?

I know this is an expensive endeavor and I know there are OEM parts available.

Just trying to find the one 100 fanatic that made it happen. Also would like to compile a list of needed parts.

Thank you in advance!

I had the parts list in a Sheets file at one time. I'll see if I can find it. It is buildable if you have the time and the pocketbook. I opted to use the 5spd auto for my build instead once the costs were compared.

Why is it so expensive to convert if they make it as a factory option? do you have to use custom fabricated parts?

Most of those factory parts weren't available in the states. So you're sourcing and importing parts, some even at retail. It all adds up in a hurry.

x2. Factory option yes but a relatively rare option. Finding used parts will be difficult and then shipped around the world. Finding new parts might be possible but it'll be over $5k, for sure. At that cost, it might better to just import a complete factory fitted cruiser.

i think the only feasible way to do this is to buy a donor truck / half cut and have it imported as parts
it would be absurdly expensive

I wonder if some of the parts have cone down. I bought a front diff and carrier kast year and the price from toyota was 50 percent off.

Does anyone know the 5 speed that was used in the 100 series V8?

It's an H151 transmission... but not the same as the manual 80 series transmission. The input shaft will be different. Some of the parts are listed here.

I have (3) manual transmission vehicles and love driving them but with the 100, I'd choose the 5-sp auto over the 5-sp manual. Any fuel mileage gains will be negligible. The auto can crawl slower than the manual. It's a really tough sell.

That video is awesome. I'd love to have an Aussie spec 100 with the manual.

The end of that video cracks me up. "Definitely a good economy car.. drives like a sedan." hahaha

I wonder if the UZJ100 IFS V8 LHD manual if the rarest of all the 100 series? And does it have ATRAC and VSC? I know a guy on here had a blue one in the UK. He use to post quite a bit.

So I’ve actually spent some time pouring over the parts diagrams. And searching euro car sale sites. It definitely exists. They sold them in the GCC aswell with some slight differences.
You can also buy all the parts for a lot less than 100 series costs these days. The wiring might be tricky for an 06-07 because you will need lextreme to build a custom harness to make the auto vvti ecu happy. Different drive shaft lengths, transfer case is the same I think. Different brake pedal, and the master cylinder set up gets different part numbers but I think that’s because of a pressure switch that we get. And some different shaped brake lines

I did a quick google looking for a manual 105 but they didn't make it with a V8 :-(

Could buy a couple H151s for the price of a 4050. Theyre supposedly great transmissions, but they weren't available here either.
