2002 tundra front diff spec’s (2 Viewers)

Hey folks, first time I’ve posted in this forum, (spend most my time in the 40 & 80 series forums)

While I lavish massive amount of $$$ on the land cruisers, as the original owner, with almost 300k, my beloved 2002 Tundra is bone stock.

Recently “grenaded” the front diff. The dealership just wants to bolt in a new diff assembly, the local driveline shop says they can’t source parts for the “newer” Toyotas.

Can anybody confirm the gear ratio, spline count, & ring & pinion diameter for a stock 2002 tundra 4.7, 4WD? It has a limited slip rear, can’t recall on the front.

Do I need to find the VIN ?

Jack the rear up, rotate the tire and count it vs the driveshaft.

It’s basically an open 8” diff but IFS

There are plenty of people who can rebuild them but there is also nothing wrong w just bolting in a new Oem one which is only slightly more.

Should be a 3.73 ish
