I'm in new Hanover. Military cutoff and uhm...market street I think. I'll shoot you a PM when I head over in a few weeks

Sounds good.

got a pic of where those holes are that need to be filled?

I'll see if I can get a pic when I do the driver's side lens. Didn't happen today as I took the truck in to get the infamous windshield noise fixed at a glass shop and it wasn't finished at closing. If you look though the bulb hole in the back of the headlight you will be able to see them fairly easily, two rectangular holes in the cutoff shield.

I need some help. On my way home, I realized that my low beams did not fire up. I know that the slim balasts have issues with firing up with the hundy sometimes, but I usually just turn the lights off then back on and wait for them to "warm up." Today, I tried turning on the lights several times and they dint fire up at all. I reconnected everything(relay, ballasts, etc). Is it possible that I blew a fuse? Or shorted something out? Maybe the constant turning on and off of the ballasts caused them to break? Pls let me know what you guys think.

Uh... check the fuses.

Do you have a aftermarket relay kit for the lights? Most of them that come with hid kits are bad quality and fail easily.

So what can I do as of now? Just complain to ddm?

Yes, but they are out of the HID business. Probably easiest to buy a new relay kit.

got any suggestions on a GOOD relay kit?

I bought one off amazon and it's been working for a year. IDK if its any better than the ddm one though. I'm sure they are all chinese.

Never had a lighting issue. I keep my light switch on "off" until I need them at night, I don't turn the switch at all during the day. During the night, I start the truck with the lights off and then turn them on. When I turn the truck off I simply turn the lights off first, then turn the key off and go inside. I never turn mine on/off unnecessarily or just to look cool. They have been super reliable for the first year. Not one glitch or issue, after all the water, mud, vibration of FS roads, heat, cold and me dropping one trying to mount it a few weeks ago. You NEVER want to turn aftermarket HID's on then off while they are warming up. That causes the ballast to fail, that is another reason why you do not put HID's in the high beams.

Here are the pics.

First pic is the back of the headlight with the access cap and bulb removed, second is the view of the holes through the bulb opening, and third is a pic with one of the holes filled.

Added HIDs at last!

So, I had ordered my 55w 5000k DDM bulbs, ballasts, brackets, and wiring harness. Install was with my son on Saturday. Having now ordered and installed everything, I would suggest making your own wiring harness, as mine had wires too long and I ended up wire-tying them up in front of my battery. I may go back in there and cut out some length at a later date.

Overall, the install was very easy, after I figured out how to get those corner lights to pop out. They were being very stubborn!

I mounted my ballasts in the corners behind the light assemblies against the inner wall, on the motor side. It was an easy place to get my drill in for mounting the brackets.

Just a note, on my '02 LC, I do not have a cut-off internal to the light assembly (see LX assembly above), so there are no modifications that need or can be done to the assembly. It does make getting the ballasts mounted easier, if you remove them, as it frees up a bunch of space to get the drill lined up.

Pics -

#2 - view through bulb mount into the assembly
#3 - Lights on!
These made a massive difference in the quality of light!:p

I installed a 4500k DDM kit in my 2000 LC. The cutoff isn't as sharp as I'd like, but I drove by my truck in my brother's boxter and didn't notice any glare. So many cars and SUVs now have HIDs from the factory, that they shouldn't draw any attention. I've installed DDM HID kits several vehicles and my polaris ranger, and all the kits have performed flawlessly.

My cutoff is similar to yours. Not as crisp as the LX head lamp assemblies provide, but way better light than the stock bulbs.

I do have a follow on question: Does anyone know if we can get 5000k DRL bulbs to match the color of the HIDs?

I am starting to have this same issue with mine. I also have the 55 watt DDMs. At first it was just one side, and I thought something was wrong with it. But now it has been both sides. If I turn them off and back on they usually fire up on the second time. I ordered the DDM wiring harness with my kits originally, but did not put it on yet. Going to install it now and see if it makes a difference, because it seems like they are just not getting enough power to start them both up.

I also have 35 watt for my fogs.....and have had no issues with them. Again pointing me back to the 55 watts not having enough power for the draw at start up.
