hello everyone. just joined.

I have been lurking and researching potential base vehicles for overland builds.

I have come across a 2000 LC. A VIN check revealed that it has a factory rear locker. JT3HT05J7Y0092851

Here's the decoder link. Vin Decoder - YotaTech Forums

My understanding is only 98 and 99 LCs had lockers. Could the VIN decoder be wrong and it's actually a 99 LC not 2000?

If I end up with a 100 series I wanted to avoid the 98/99 2 pinion front diff. I know I can just upgrade to an ARB but I want to budget for a lot of other things that are essential for the build. Front locker is probably at the bottom of the long list.

Lol I'm hoping this is some kind of unicorn LC with rear locker and 4 pinion front diff. The rear locker is not the issue here though. I would be happy with ATRAC or a locker. All I'm really trying to avoid is the weaker front diff (2 pinion). Maybe I shouldn't be avoiding it this hard?

BTW....I searched ALOT on this topic prior to creating this post if anyone was thinking of going there. (I know it's common with newb posts)

Thanks and I appreciate any feedback.
