2000 Land Cruiser Questions

I finally bought a 100 series a couple weeks ago and have a couple questions. The first one and try not to laugh is when I change the engine oil this weekend how many quarts of oil go in the V8? I'm sure it says it somewhere in the manual but wanted to get some Mobil 1 on the way home tonight.

Also there appears to be a third slot for a gear shifter??? I have the gear shifter and transfer case shifter and then to the left of the transfer case shifter there's a black slot that looks like another shifter or something could go there. I was wondering if anybody knows what that was for....maybe it's an option my vehicle didn't have or something for a non-USA curiser. Anybody know?? If this doesn't make sense I can snap a photo tonight to show what I'm talking about.

Dont Ever Put an aftermarket anything when it comes to maintenence and/or replacement (mechanical/electrical) parts !

Don't think so- it's a hydraulic suspension- big bucks to replace.

agree with hank. if you really want it, sell the lc and buy an lx. not practical to retrofit.

this wil replace that slot you guys are talking about to a pocket. you just pry that slot and drop this one in and you have something to put your cell phone in or something elese.

The Manual says 6.8 Quarts. I just changed mine yesterday and put in a full 7 quarts. After starting it up and letting the filter fill up, I had to add another 2/10ths. This has happened everytime I've changed my oil.

Put a full 7 quarts in and check it, you'll be full. start it and you'll need some more.

i think it will fit fine for me, was able to pry off the blank plate with no problem, even with my wood trim

I just ordered up the pocket from CDan. He says its for an 03 and up and wasn't sure it would fit, but I went with it anyway.

i should have my pocket at the dealer by now, been on vacation all week long and just rolled back in town. i will update on fit on monday...
