I couldn’t find a thread along these lines after searching for a while so I thought I’d get one going to help others understand how to make the best decisions based not only on looks but also weight.

I was a little disappointed about the weight of the stock 08’ LX 20’s...

And of course everyone likes to run the TRD Rock Warrior wheels...

And naked...

And my personal favorite, custom OMF Beadlock on RW wheels...

@MTKID is the custom beadlock functional or cosmetic? Looks sweet!

I had the benefit of shopping 100s first so saw that one day. It led to me purchasing a passel of the Tundra 18” at 29 lb.

Fully functional but outer beadlock only, not dual...

But they’re on my 100

I was about to ask if you moved the body mount to put the 37" on your 200 :)

Oh, I wish! Then I can figure out how to squeeze 40’s under my 100!

For some strange reason my wife thinks all of this is unnecessary

My Rock Warriors with 285/70R-17 BFG TA KO2 and my OEM 2015 20" wheels with Dunlop Grandtreks weigh about the same. That is insane. Rock Warriors are the best deal in wheels around, but don't tell anyone else.

Considering that a 20" wheels is about 30% dimensionally larger than a 17" wheel, the weight is not completely out of line. Which is roughly the difference between 36.2 to 26.8 lbs, 20" to 17" wheels respectively.

To your point, the extra weight in sidewall and air that is needed for a 17" wheel is going to be better than the diff in weight between the 20 to 17" wheel.

Personally, there's some good reasons to have 20" wheels, outside of bling. Even more true when upsizing tires. Too much sizewall makes things vague and squishy. Sure, that's a good quality for off-roading. But I have to drive on road too. A lot. For towing, the extra lateral stability is a good thing too.

All good points. My perspective was little wheels for SCCA Racing, then wheels for the 80’s & 100’s (16’s & 17’s)which seemed heavy but I really haven’t looked at the weight of many other 20” wheels. So I should probably see how that compares.

I don’t mind a little extra stability for my wife driving around but I also trust her ability to handle a taller sidewall when I put the summer tires on.

I finally took a few minutes and read through this thread and didn’t see any 200 series wheels listed. I’m curious about the weight of the stock 18” LC wheel. Not sure how many versions there have been.

Edit: I’m also curious what the lightest 20” Toyota wheels would be that fit our 200 since I just bought these tires, and I really like the overall size.

I come from the same roots. Loved the 17x8 superleggera's on my IS300 that I autox'd often. Absolutely felt a different in rotating mass on accel and decel, but also better traction from the less unsprung weight. I think it was something liket 15.xlbs/wheel.

I'm okay with heavier wheels on an SUV for the sake of durability.

If I recall the 18” lx470 wheels were 27 or 28. Some sets floating around but none near me at the time I was wheel shopping. I think the 200 tlc wheels are in the low 30s, but I’m too lazy to dig it up.

I think I’ve shared these already somewhere but hopefully it motivates someone with more funds than myself to keep pushing with our great rigs

Anyone knows the stock 2013-2015 LC wheel weight?
