Jamie- I hate that there is no USA supplier of those wheels. I contacted the company. However, they will sell direct if I pay the freight. They are sending me a quote but expect it to be too expensive to ship.

You never know. Our dollar is down 25% at present, and if they quote you wholesale price plus shipping (rather than retail), it might be OK. There are also a few dealers on eBay.com.au who might sell/ship them for you.

The freight was more than the wheels. Freight for 5 was $1250 AUD=$925 USD. Price on the wheels was great... Here in the states we can get the TRD 17 Rock Warriors that will work with several combinations - up to 35" with some modifications made by @sleeoffroad. I don't want to run spacers so the choices are slim. I'm running Goodyear Duratracs on 18" Ultra Goliath wheels. With this wheel - The 275-70R18 fit perfect and don't rub the sway bar or KDSS with full articulation.

I'm going to say on 200 its due to the - KDSS = knowledge does simplify suspension = Slee brackets

Honestly, I do not know. If you really want to know and the IF the bolt patterns are the same you could take the wheels off your (nice looking) 100 series / LX and try them out on your newer LX. That would at least give you a good baseline to see where and if the "rub" may happen.
per your sig line you already have some 33"s sitting in your garage.

I think I have made my decision on new wheels and tires. Based on Brian's set up, I'm pretty sure I can do the TRD 17 Rock Warriors with the 34x10.5x17 BFG KO2. I have the OME lift (think it is 2.5") with Total Chaos UCAs. I'm running the. Duratracs 275 70 R18.

These tires are nearly identical in diameter (33.4 vs 33.5 for BFG) and width is 1/3 inch wider for the BFGs. But I gain almost an inch of sidewall and I understand the BFGs KO2 have a very strong side wall construction.

So I will be selling my 18" ultra Goliath wheels with two new Duratracs and three others a year old. Unless I find out from Brian any potential problems. It looks like it works for him.

I was just discussing this with @MScruiser wondering at what size the Slee relocation bracket was required.

(NIT) 295/70 are 8.13" of sidewall and 11.61 wide
(BFG) 34/10.50 are 8.5 of sidewall and 10.5 wide
(NIT) 315/70 are 8.68 of sidewal and 12.4 wide
(NIT) 35/12.50 are 9" of sidewall and 12.5" obviously :)

Your 275/70 were 7.58 of sidewall and 10.83 wide

With these new RWs we have to decide on tires as well. Do you think the 315/70 will put the combination over the edge? We're +3" lift and UCAs.

Hi all,

I’ve just finished installing a set of adjustable upper control arms (UCAs) into the front of the 200.

If you've lifted your 200, then you're probably aware that it's very difficult to get correct wheel alignment afterwards due to a lack of camber adjustment range on the lower arms. If the front tyres on your 200 are wearing on the outside edges and a wheel alignment didn't fix the problem, then chances are you need to replace the factory UCAs to allow for the suspension lift.

The SuperPro UCAs I've fitted are suitable for both standard and lifted suspension systems, and provide adjustable camber and caster settings. The 200 runs less than typical caster (only 2º, while most vehicles run 3-5º). Increasing caster can provide improved stability at high speed and increased tyre lean when cornering, which further helps outer tyre wear on the 200.

The adjustable UCAs cost just under $1,000 and can be fitted yourself in a few hours, after which you'll need to get a wheel alignment. The installation went well with no major issues to report. Here’s the link to the article and video:

Overlander Magazine

If any of you buy Overlander magazine, you may have noticed that Project 200 is now covered in a monthly column. Good to see a major magazine starting to show some interest in the 200-series, instead of endless articles about GU Patrols and 80/100-series 'Cruisers!

Next Update

The next 'update' will actually be a report from my recent 8,000km trip to central Australia, where I'll go through how all the accessories and modifications performed. It should be out in about a month.

Hi all,

Apologies for the delay with this update. Too many projects!

The build progress update and central-Australian trip report is now online. We had a fantastic trip, covering 8,500km through Central Australia. There's a video featuring driving footage and some still images we captured along the way plus updates on how the vehicle and all the accessories are performing so far, including during the trip itself.

Get the details and watch the video here:

I've also built a website about building a home-made camper trailer, featuring the trailer we took on the trip. You can read more at:

DIY Camper: Build you own camper-trailer

Next Update
The next Project 200 update will cover the installation, tuning and testing of a Unichip Q4 performance chip and a Unichip exhaust system. It should be out in about a month.... if everything goes to plan!

Cool Thread! Sub'd.

Hi all,

Probably my most asked about mods, the chip and exhaust, are finally done and the video/article are up.

It was all fitted back in November last year, and since then I've been driving and testing to check for any problems and measure performance and economy. Running the 'Max Power' tune, I got a whopping 53% increase in power and torque. Running the 'Max Economy' tune (which I usually do), I got a 25/30% increase in power/torque PLUS a 5% improvement in economy.

Extremely impressive result. No fault codes or issues since fitment. Sounds nice too (check the end of the video). Thanks to Pat from Power Curve Performance for going above and beyond on the dyno runs so I could get as much comparative data as possible.

There are assorted dyno run graphs plus some comparisons for 0-100 times and fuel economy.

LandCruiser 200 - Unichip Q4 and exhaust system

This will be the last mod/article for a while now. There's not much more to do on the vehicle, and I've got a backlog of things to do around the house! I will be completely redesigning the website to be mobile-friendly over the next few months though.

Hi all,

I've spent the last few months rebuilding the website into something that's mobile-friendly, adding comments/Q&A to each page, plus moving it so it's directly accessible from project200.com.au instead of being redirected to the Australian Images site.

I think I've ironed out all the glitches, but if you find something that's not working properly, please let me know.

Wow. Well done Jamie! This has to be the best site on 200 for Overlanding out there. I know it has helped me with several of my upgrades and I really appreciate the professional discussion and videos. It it on the top of my Favorites list now. Looks great on the and iPAD.

Hate being reminded that we don't get that awesome diesel engine over here. :bang:

The updates are getting few and far between these days. Who knew that work and kids gobbled up so much time!

The latest one is splitting the factory dual batteries into 1x starting and 1x auxilliary/deep cycle, along with the installation of a Redarc DC-DC/Solar charger. Really happy with how it turned out, particularly using the nifty Long Ranger charger bracket which sits behind the grille.

The batteries, charger and bracket are all Australian, so not sure if they're available in the US, but no doubt you can get them via eBay. ARB sell the Redarc chargers and Long Ranger brackets in Australia, but not sure if they sell them in the US. Anyway, here it is:
