Thanks @coleAK and @Heckraiser . I track the narrower-is-better logic for ground pressure vs. floating, but for my use case I'm not that concerned. Unless things get way out of hand (early 2015 comes to mind), the roads around here are generally plowed pretty quickly (and on the major interstates and state roads), with many roads pre-coated with brine and/or road salted, so my travels typically bring me into contact with limited snow cover, unless it's snowing at that moment. When there is precipitation it's much more typical to encounter anything from a wet sheen, to melt-then-refreeze, to slush, rather than perma-pack snow like I would think you'd have in AK or CO (at elevation). But much of my expected use case involves clear, cold/frozen pavement.

I will add Nokian's to my search, although their absence from Tire Rack means I would have to go to a tire store. According to Nokian, the Hakkapeliitta R3 SUV is the right non-studded tire, but Sullivan Tire (the only listed big chain dealer nearby) doesn't show the 285/60R18 as an available size, so I can't get a price...perhaps a special order would be needed.

Is anyone running the 17" MR703 on either an LC or LX?

I would love some photos.
I've got you covered. Tires are Toyo AT3 in 285/75R17, and I have the factory spacers up front. Some plastic parts were harmed in the process.

I wanted to share some of my impressions on the new BFG trail terrain after accumulating about 1000 hwy mi.
I've not had the opportunity to drive them in wet, snow or take them off road, so my comments are strictly city and hwy cruise speeds 35-85mph.
Overall I'm extremely pleased with the on road manners.
Dry road grip, steering wheel center feel improved over the Dunlop Grandtreks , comfort is on par, only area which is somewhat expected, slight increase in road noise.
Although they're stock size 285/60/18, they are considerably wider than the Grandtreks.
Hoping we get some snow soon in our local mountains, I'm looking forward to see how they compare to my KO2s.

275/70/18 KO2's with factory front coil spacers and Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers. It rubs in reverse at or near full lock turn. Happy with the beefier stock look for now but definitely looking forward to a proper lift, aftermarket wheels and larger meats in the future.

I want to give a shout-out to @DirtNap. He has updated my database and made it more user friedly.

UPDATE #1: A disgruntled member keeps deleting portions of the database, so I had to remove the editing abilities for everyone. :meh:

For now, just submit your info via a reply to this thread or I.M. me, and I will update it myself.

Update #2: To anyone else who wants their info in the database: I am getting tired of people messaging me their tires, but do no seem to give me anymore info. Look at the database, and make sure you give me EVERYTHING that is listed. I am tired of trying to track down the rest of the info! From now on, if you fail to give the full description, I will ignore your post. No hard feelings, but... Also, if you have the exact same setup as another member that has already been posted, it is a little redundant to have it in the database. i.e. We all know that a 275/70 will fit just fine. I get that the more entries the better, but if the setup is clearly tried and true, its not going to do much good having it in the database. The only reason it would be useful, would be if you actually have rubbing on a setup where another member said he or she had no rubbing. If that is the case, then please me note of it when contacting me, or replying to this thread.

Original Post: I have seen many many threads titled "How big can I go?" and "What tire Size?" "Will it fit?" etc. Instead of trying to sort through everything, I decided to make a google doc to keep track of everything.

I think this will really help those who are trying to pick a tire and wheel for their 200. I included boxes for tire size, wheel size, manufacturer, mods, and general notes about your particular truck.

Maybe this is a stupid idea. Who knows; lets see if it catches on.

I will go ahead and enter info into the spreadsheet as I see it in various discussions. If you see your name on the list already, please do not be offended, and please feel free to update it as you deem necessary--especially if you see a "n/a".

I would also like to add, that if you do have rubbing, please note where the rubbing occurs (in the notes section), as we can make the spreadsheet more specific as we get more info.

I've got to be missing something. Where is the actual database located? Is there a link to the spreadsheet somewhere?

Question for the day. Normally OWRL sidewalls are reversible - where you can mount the white letters to the inside. Can anyone confirm that the new BFG Trail-Terrain is indeed reversible and only have white letters on one sidewall? The only black sidewalls they offer are stock 285/60/18s, but larger sizes seem to only be OWRL. Would love to go to maybe 275/65/18 (32.1”) or a little larger but these are so new, no one knows whether the white letters are on both sidewalls.

Dont know for certain. However, I did see on another Tundra forum where they had the Trail-Terrain T/A mounted with white letters inside and all black lettering on the outside.

What do you mean “factory spacers up front”? in order to run 17 inch wheels, you had to add spacers between the wheel and the studs Or it would rub? Why do you call them factory spacers? I am trying to learn what to go with on my 200. Thank you.

Sorry, these are spacers in front coil assembly to create a ~3/4" lift. My truck has no wheel spacers. I believe (and could be mistaken) that some 17" wheels will clear the disks and calipers while others will not.

They are 10mm which is 0.39" so not quite 1/2" tall. I thought they made a difference but the longer they've been on the less I think they've made a difference, but that could just be me always wishing for bigger lol.

Every mm counts. Lol

New to the forum, first post! Have a 2016 LC200 coming at the end of the month- very excited. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the forum and database, so much good info.

The truck will serve as a second daily driver for me so don't want more mods than necessary but do want to beef things up a bit. I want to get a bit more height and a bit more stance.

I'll get a 275/70/18 setup in a solid all-terrain for the height. For the stance I'll either

1. Keep stock wheels and get a 1" spacer
2. Get an aftermarket wheel in 18x8 with 25-40mm offset (or equivalent with wider wheel)

Anybody running the above setup? The database doesn't have anyone who is running a spacer or aftermarket 25-40mm offset with the 275/70 and I can't find any posts with it either.

Thanks to everyone in advance!

I ran this set up with 25mm spacer for ~ 3 years. Nothing remarkable to report 👍
