This is the direct rival of the Land Cruiser 200
. Released in 2010 the Y62 Patrol used the LC200 as a benchmark.

Available in two engine choices

5.6 400 hp v8 7 speed auto
5.6 317 hp 5 v8 speed auto or 6 speed manual

IFS/IRS. The usual off road package - rear lockers/multi terrain system / hill assist/decent and the fully loaded model comes with blind spot assist, intelligent radar cruise control, around view monitor, brake assist, lane departure warning, distance control assist and hydraulic body motion control.

a v6 is on the way and possibly the cummins diesel from the new Titan.

Looks like an Infinity QX80. I am sure they are built on the same platform. Good looking interior for sure.

The QX80 is built on the Patrol platform but it lacks the off road tech the Patrol has and is more road oriented, still deep down it is a Patrol. They keep changing the platform the QX is based on each generation...hopefully they stick to the Patrol this time.

I figured.

I tell you one thing though. The qx80 in my opinion, is the most god-awful ugly car on the road right now. A face only a mother could love.

I agree. Even in the GCC, no one buys it. Sometimes you can even get it for less than it would cost to buy a fully loaded Patrol. Dealers just want to get rid of them. It looks uglier than the Patrol, and has less off road tech....Inside it looks the same.

Now i'm not saying the Patrol looks beautiful either but it grows on you.

Space ship

That brown interior looks great, but I'm still not sure I could live with it every day. Starting to see a few more of these on the roads over here in AU, but there would only be one to every 50 LC's. I parked next to one in a carpark last year, and they look fricking enormous next to my 200. My wife called it a "Nissapotamus" - I don't think she's too far off the mark either......

I have driven them, they are really nice to drive on the road and even off road. It was a beast in the dunes.
Pics from my last test drive of the Patrol out in the dunes.

MS Cruiser. I completely agree that the infinity is the most disgusting looking SUV out there. I don't like it from any angle. Those fender "air vents" look like something you buy for $6 at the autoparts store and put on your accord to make it look like an M3. I hear those combined with a chrome exhaust tip add as least 50hp.
This is only my simple minded opinion.
Unfortunately I don't think the 200 is a pretty truck either but I'll take the Land Cruiser thank you.

Back in the day the patrol and the land cruisers were the only things running in the desert! After the patrol/QX redesign they did not sell at all. Not surprised they are working on them

Agreed. The 200 ain't gonna win a beauty contest. :hillbilly: It has slowly grown on me though. I think the 100 looks better.

Patrol sales in the GCC have never been better. Especially after the 2014 update.
LC is still number 1, however, the gap seems to be getting smaller.
I enjoy the competition between the LC and Patrol and i hope it lasts a very long time.

They also still make the old Y61 with solid axles for the hardcore off road enthusiasts.

BTW, i think one of those fender vents is actually functional.

These big Nissans have been a total unmitigated fail down under however. Until they bring a diesel out they wont even touch the 200 Series in terms of sales numbers. Resale value is a complete bust as there is next to no second hand market for these big petrol powered pigs. Probably a totally different situation in Gulf where gas is much cheaper and maybe the story will change now that oil price is heading south for an extended stay.

they gotta keep something to compete with the 70 series ..

Yup!! LWB/SWB/Pickup

4.8 straight 6 with 280hp 5 speed auto or 5 speed manual.

Y62 is now picking up in Saudi, under a new dealership, with very competitive prices and improved 3S services. Y62 with all the bells & whistles including 4 cameras sells like 8000$ less than a LC200 equivalent. Its great for a generic consumer but for offroading it still lacks hugely in products. Few of my friends got it recently and it's really comfy+powerful. Plus with an ease you can fit 305s !!
